Simpli-Fi partners with Cel-Fi to offer a solution for in-building mobile signal boosting in green buildings. 5G does not solve the problem of poor mobile coverage in green buildings and despite this new technology, mobile boosting solutions are required to maximise signal coverage.

We're proud to have recently completed a significant WiFi upgrade for the Richard Challoner School in New Malden.

Richard Challoner School is amongst the country's best-performing secondary schools and Sixth Forms. They are also one of the few schools in the UK that operate a 1:1 ratio of wireless devices per student. With 1000+ students and the c400 staff that also use wireless devices, the school is 100% reliant on a fast, reliable WiFi network that can support this capacity.

Having struggled for years with other WiFi solutions, Simpli-Fi had to take a consultative approach to thoroughly understand the current system's issues, the school's daily requirements and what they needed from a new solution that would future-proof the school.

Simpli-Fi conducted Ekehau wireless site surveys pre and post-installation to determine the optimum AP placements. Typically, networks are designed to have greater than -67dbm RSSI where the client is located. However, because the school also relies on a VOIP network, we had to over-engineer to a reading greater than -65dbm to ensure successful roaming without interrupting calls.

Simpli-Fi installed a new Ruckus Networks WiFi 6 solution comprising 90 high-capacity access points across the site with Ruckus ICX multigigabit POE switches to support the higher-capacity APs.
