We’re doing a bilingual Unity for Artists workshop at The Big Thing in Llandudno! 🎮

I went to The Big Thing in Bradford last year and it was incredible, so it’s really special to have Immersive Arts UK bringing it to North Wales this year!

That’s annual leave over already.

It’s been a good mix of switching off and still keeping busy. I finally got stuck into the garden, jet washing, filling a skip, building a little moonlight cinema, and generally making the most of the sunshine.

I also had the chance to attend the Start-Up Awards. It was an honour to be shortlisted as a finalist. We didn’t take home the award this time, but huge congratulations to Daniel Evans from Vedri Virtual Production Studio and Leena Farhat from ecodetect , who both came with the M-SParc cohort, Well deserved, and congratulations to all the finalists and winners.

Tomorrow it’s back to it. I’ll be spending the week in Cardiff working on another immersive R&D project with the Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru | Wales Millennium Centre.

Here’s to a productive week ahead.

We’re delighted to share that Artio has been selected by Media Cymru for presentation at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 Immersive Marketplace,
Fri 15 May | 11:20 – 12:20
📍Carlton Hotel, Cannes

Developed through the Media Cymru x Outernet London partnership, Artio is a large-scale immersive musical experience reimagining Arthurian mythology through an ecological and feminist lens, combining original bilingual music, immersive visuals and audience interaction.

Created by a multidisciplinary Welsh team under CreuTech Ltd, the project brings together storytelling, spatial sound, generative media and live interaction to explore new forms of immersive cultural experience.

This marks an exciting step for the project as we move from R&D into international showcase and distribution conversations.

Huge thanks to everyone involved in helping bring Artio to life.

Two brilliant days at the Wales Millennium Centre delivering an Immersive Arts UK workshop on tools and tech for the Explore cohort!

Day 1: tools for experiencing

Participants explored what immersive feels like from the audience side, trying out haptics in VR, augmented reality, spatial/4D audio, projection mapping and more.

Day 2: tools for creating

Looking at how this work actually gets made, AI motion capture, digital sculpting, photogrammetry, game engines, and how to shape and communicate ideas through immersive pitch decks.

Massive thanks to Livi Wilmore and Sean Rodrigo for facilitating alongside me through CreuTech Ltd, covering everything from AR and VR to spatial thinking and prototyping workflows.

We also had Joanna W. from Arts Council Wales join us to share insight into funding and support, which added a really valuable layer to the conversations.

Excited to see where this cohort takes things next!

Still time to catch this interactive experience of self discovery that we developed for The National Gallery in collaboration with Wen.

It was inspired by the slate mines of Manod Quarey where the National Gallery’s paintings were stored and kept safe during the Second World War.
