How to check windows system performance using Task Manager in Windows, follow these steps:
1. Open Task Manager
• Shortcut Method: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard.
• Alternate Method: Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select Task Manager from the context menu.
• Another Method: Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager from the options.
2. Navigate to the Performance Tab
• Once Task Manager is open, if you see a simplified view with just a list of open applications, click on "More details" at the bottom to expand it.
• Click on the Performance tab. This tab provides a detailed overview of your system’s resource usage.
3. Monitor Key System Resources
The Performance tab is divided into several sections, each representing different system resources:
• CPU (Central Processing Unit):
o Displays the current processor usage as a percentage.
o Shows the speed of the processor in GHz and the number of cores/threads.
o You can also see a graph of CPU usage over time, along with information about the processes consuming the most CPU resources.
• Memory (RAM):
o Shows how much of your system's RAM is currently in use.
o Displays the total amount of RAM, the amount used, and the available/free memory.
o The graph shows memory usage over time, which helps in identifying memory leaks or unusually high memory consumption.
• Disk:
o Displays the current read and write speeds of your hard drives or SSDs.
o Shows the percentage of disk activity and how much disk space is being used.
o Useful for identifying if disk-intensive tasks are causing slowdowns.
• Network:
o Shows the current network usage in terms of upload and download speeds.
