"When I started as a web designer 12 years ago, it was an extremely male-dominated environment. But it didn't discourage me. If anything, I felt that being a woman within the industry gave me an advantage. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Over the years, I've witnessed a rise in women joining the industry, especially in graphic, UI & UX design. But the low percentage of women in leadership positions is disconcerting. While many organisations commit to gender equality on a visible, surface level, unconscious bias continues to ensure that women remain underrepresented. Companies should be held accountable for ensuring equal pay, flexible working hours, shared maternity leave, and transforming outdated ideas and structures.
