We're excited to be attending London Tech Week from 8–10 June.

Over the past year, we've spoken with teachers across the UK about workload, planning, marking, reporting, and the day-to-day realities of working in education.

We'll be taking those insights with us to London.

As conversations around AI in education continue to grow, we believe it's important that teachers remain at the centre of those discussions.

At Dolly, we're focused on reducing teacher workload, protecting teachers' time, and supporting wellbeing. We believe technology should quietly support teachers behind the scenes, helping reduce administrative burden so they can focus on what matters most: teaching and supporting students.

If you're attending London Tech Week, we'd love to connect.

“Marking and report writing are real pinch points, especially around summer exams.
There’s no standard book marking, which leads to inconsistency and stress.” — Secondary school teacher, Ireland

This kind of feedback is a big part of why Dolly exists.

To help reduce some of the repetitive workload that quietly builds up around marking, reporting, and day-to-day teaching admin.

Teaching workload rarely comes from one single task.

It’s usually the accumulation of constant switching between planning, marking, tracking progress, writing reports, and managing submissions. Often across multiple systems.

We recently recorded a short walkthrough showing how Dolly brings those workflows together in one connected system, helping reduce repetitive admin so teachers can spend more time teaching and supporting students.

The goal isn’t to replace teachers.
It’s to support them.

The hardest part of this time of year isn’t the exams.

It’s everything around them.

The checking, re-checking…
and those “just in case” moments to make sure nothing gets missed.

It’s not one big task.

It’s lots of small ones. Constantly.

And that’s what really builds up.

Most teachers aren’t looking to change everything right now.

Just to take a bit of that invisible workload off their plate.

This time of year… you can usually feel it.

Revision is underway.
Past papers are out.
Key topics are being revisited.

And somewhere in the background, there’s that quiet thought:

👉 Some things haven’t quite landed.

Not everything — but enough to notice.

The challenge isn’t the pressure.
That part is expected.

It’s the timing.

There’s very little space left to respond.
Marking still needs doing.
Lessons still need to be delivered.

So gaps don’t disappear.
They just get harder to act on.

That’s why, right now, it’s not about doing more.

It’s about:
• seeing what hasn’t stuck
• focusing where it matters most
• supporting what actually works

We’ve been noticing something recently when speaking with teachers:

It’s not about having lots of features. It’s about having the right ones.

Especially when it comes to planning, marking, and report writing.

Those are the tasks that really take time.

That’s what Dolly tries to focus on. Supporting the parts of the job that actually make a difference day to day.

Some parts of teaching should never be automated.

• professional judgement
• relationships with pupils
• knowing when to pause or push

These are not inefficiencies.

They are the work itself.

AI has a place in education.
But not everywhere.

We hosted a Dolly demo yesterday for teachers.

It was great to walk through how everything connects.
From assignment creation to feedback and progress tracking.

If you missed it, we’ll be running more sessions soon.
