Things we’ve done this week to regulate our nervous system ⚡️

1. We’ve got out into nature for a walk every night after work to ground ourselves

2. We’ve been to a foraging class this morning where along with learning more about plants/ flowers, we were present in the moment learning about all the wonderful plants

3. We’ve socialised with friends to make sure we’re connecting with others

4. We’ve had some goood, long sleeps because life is busy and we don’t always get enough sleep during the week if we’re stressed or busy with work

5. Not drank any/ much alcohol because for me, this is something that can have a big impact on the days following. My sleep is poor, I crave bad foods and generally don’t feel as good in myself.

Regulating our nervous systems doesn’t always have to be expensive or 12 step-routines. It can be nature, good food, enough sleep and some form of mindfulness.

Being a Highly Sensitive Person is a superpower, but there needs to be boundaries 🫶🏻 Did you know 15- 30% of the population have a Highly Sensitive Personality? 💫

5 Signs you could be a Highly Sensitive Person:

1. You think deeply about experiences, notice subtle changes, and reflect intensely

2. You feel drained or stressed quickly by loud noises, bright lights, crowds, or rushed schedules.

3. You experience strong empathy, crying easily at beauty or pain, and absorbing others' moods.

4. You might notice small details like fine scents, scratchy clothing tags, or background sounds.

5. You process the world vividly, leading to strong artistic or problem-solving talents.

Does this resonate with you?

QUIETLY MAGIC 🧚‍♀️I've been thinking about how I would like to help people using the skills/ knowledge I have and decided to change the name of my page & brand to 'Quietly Magic' 🐙

Some people will know me well enough to know I am definitely a spiritual gal that believes in the woo woo... so I wanted that to shine alongside the psychology/ trauma/ therapy stuff because in this world, we need to have some hope too! 💫

Why "Quietly Magic"? Because we all have magic in us — just different kinds. Mine happens to be sitting with people and feeling what's underneath. Yours might be numbers, or fixing things, or making people laugh at the right moment. This page is about finding your way back to yours. 🌀

Most people don’t realise this…
What they call “laziness,” “too sensitive,” “clingy,” “dramatic,” or “shutting down” can actually be a trauma response.

Not a flaw.
Not attention-seeking.
Not weakness.
Protection.

Your nervous system learned patterns to keep you safe when safety wasn’t guaranteed.

That’s why healing isn’t about “just thinking positive.”
It’s about understanding the pattern, meeting the wound, and creating safety in the body.

Read that again:
Your trauma responses are not your personality — they’re survival strategies.

If this hit, save it for later and send it to someone who needs this reminder. 🤍

If you’re in survival mode right now, this is your reminder:

You are not behind.
You are not failing.
And you do not need to force yourself to “heal faster.”

Surviving is protection.
Coping is support.
Healing is transformation.

Each one has a purpose.

The goal isn’t to shame yourself for where you are…
it’s to understand what your mind and body are asking for, and respond with more compassion.

Healing doesn’t happen by pressure.
It happens through safety, awareness, and gentle repetition.

✨ Save this for the days you need the reminder. ✨

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel the way you do, this space is for you.
Here, we explore the emotional patterns shaped in childhood, the attachment dynamics that follow us into adulthood, and the deeper self-understanding that creates real change.
No clichés. No quick fixes. Just grounded, emotionally intelligent psychology — explained simply. 🤍
