On Saturday we had the joy of experiencing an utterly gorgeous Cloud Inversion which lasted all day long, along the valley - from Matlock to Darley Dale, Chatsworth Estate & Curbar - it really was viewing at its finest up at Curbar Edge.
I really can't remember when we've had such a long period of snow and ice on the ground, cooling the area, leading up to such a stunningly sunny winter's day with blue skies and views for miles over the top of the inversion.
I really could have snapped photos and just enjoyed the sublime and gradually changing landscape all day long, had I not had to wind my way back home before the ice & snow covered roads took a turn for the worse. But a fabulous experience!

Today there were gorgeous, stormy, rainbow filled skies, we screeched to a halt along the A61 Ridge Road and leapt out into the torrential rain showers to view some awesome storm clouds creating gorgeous double rainbows
