⚠️ **THIS IS WHY RECOENERGY ONLY SELLS LEAD-ACID BATTERIES** ⚠️

This damaged lithium battery was **hidden inside one of our lead-acid battery bins**, with the top already blown off.

Look closely at what was inside: individual cells packed together, tape everywhere, basic wiring and build quality that can only be described as **abysmal**.

We accept that reputable, properly engineered lithium systems exist. However, the market is now flooded with cheap, mass-produced imports of widely varying quality—and from the outside, customers often have no way of knowing what is actually inside them.

The price of lithium batteries has dropped dramatically, but **cheaper does not automatically mean safer or better built**. When manufacturers compete mainly on price, corners can be cut on the cells, wiring, battery-management system, insulation, assembly and quality control.

Lead-acid batteries must still be handled responsibly, but they are among the most successfully recycled consumer products in the world. Their lead, plastic casing and other materials can be recovered and reused to manufacture new batteries.

Lithium is different. When a poorly manufactured, damaged or incorrectly charged lithium battery fails, it can overheat, ignite and enter **thermal runaway**—a fire that is extremely difficult to control and can reignite after appearing to be extinguished.

That is exactly why fire services, vehicle converters, storage operators and insurance companies are paying increasingly close attention to lithium battery quality, installation and charging arrangements.

Lithium batteries must **never** be hidden inside lead-acid battery bins.
