Last week, the Deep Planet team caught up with its grant partners for the VineAI: Artificial Intelligence for Disease Management project funded by Innovate UK. Our goal is to generate weekly disease risk maps that show the probability of botrytis, powdery mildew and downy mildew in the vineyard; as well as to deliver alerts for early disease detection.

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation (NYWGF) has released the 2024 New York Vineyard Report, we’re incredibly proud to have been a part of this groundbreaking project.

The report marked the beginning of a two-year initiative aimed at re-establishing benchmarks for accurate data on vineyard acreage across the state.

We at Deep Planet used our advanced machine learning detection technology to scan the state, detecting 29,586 total vineyard acres across New York. Vineyard blocks were displayed in KML files shared with the project team, split by the boundaries of the New York state regions (excluding New York City).

Kudos to Agency 29 NYWGF and Ag Access for collaborating on this project, it was a pleasure working with you and the thanks to all the Deep Planet technical and customer success team for this great work.
