We had so many lovely foxgloves in the garden this year. They’re mostly over now but I’m pleased that so many came back. This is a little composition I created one night last summer as an experiment to add to my collection as a teatowel and greeting card. I remember thinking ‘no idea what’s happening here’ as I moved foxgloves around digitally, but it was a most enjoyable sesh and when I came back to it the next day I thought ooh ok, it’s quite successful (don’t always think that! 😆) It was my most popular alongside my maps at markets in winter so I was really chuffed because although I’m proud of how well loved my maps are, I’m always excited if I can tempt people with other designs too, florals etc. I can’t take the credit really, the foxgloves do - they’re just such handsome plants, aren’t they. When I’m back at work later this year I’m looking forward to getting some really big prints of this made!

My large scale Poynton map couldn't be in a better spot - it's on platform one near the ticket office and it’s cool that so many people getting off the train from Manchester on their way home will see it, as will commuters to Macclesfield and beyond. But I was particularly keen to get this little lady’s opinion this past weekend! I think she liked it don’t you?

And in more exciting news, Romiley station in Cheshire have just commissioned me to produce a bespoke map of the lovely town to display at their beautiful station which, like Poynton, is so quaint and charming as to have won its fair share of best kept local station awards. How fab to now be a part of it all 🚂🌟

It’s bluebell season, so what better time to share this painting with you! This was a dream commission, capturing the client’s shepherd’s hut in a corner of the gorgeous woodland they own. I am so jealous! How absolutely magical. This was my final commission before I stopped work to have my baby in Feb and what a lovely way to start maternity leave. Back then, things were still a bit chilly and grey more often than not, but now the hedgerows are starting to pop with colour - when you see blue bells pop up, you know that longer days and green shoots are on the way 🪴Swipe to see some process pics
