Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Summer Party

Well this beats sitting in front of the telly on a Thursday night, an up close and personal encounter with some of the beautiful birds and animals Edinburgh Zoo.

Yet another top notch event run by Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce saw a packed room for their summer party, with a bonus wander through the Zoo and a magical hands-on experience with their young rhino, never thought we’d ever be allowed this close to such a beautiful beast, that was a bit special.

Thanks as always to the Chambers team: Rachael Findlay, Joe Turnbull, Richard Ellis for bringing together a room packed full with great folk. Oh, and a hearty feed and refreshments to top it off.

The fifth post in our birthday series shines the spotlight onto Kyle Fraser.

There’s a bit of theme building here with our team, in that Kyle is a very modest man who just quietly gets on with things, doesn’t panic, and just calmly wades through his workload, so it’s important that we give him the recognition he rightly deserves and celebrate what a rare talent we have in him.

Kyle has been an employee for over seven years, but our professional relationship goes back further than that. Kyle’s varied skillset and can-do attitude is what every team looks for, but doesn’t often find, so we’re chuffed to have him at the Alliance, and to tell you why we’re a good fit for him too.

I’ve been meaning to visit the Fingal Hotel in Leith for ages, and thanks to Thrive Networking, that‘s exactly where we headed for a summer social last night.

What a stunning place this is. I just love the fact this hotel and restaurant is actually boat, beautifully designed and fitted out in the elegance of a bygone era. A very special venue indeed.

Thank you to Lisa Johnson (no relation) and her team for the guided tour of the ship, and allowing us to have a proper nosey around. I think you gained quite a few fans last night. I won’t give away the history of the vessel - I’ll leave that for others to discover when they visit.

Once again, another top event thanks to Amanda Kremer. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday evening.

Much as we love working from home, we also need to get the hell away from our desks and our homes a bit more – life’s all about balance isn’t it?

This month sees our return to a sunny Edinburgh for our staff brekkie. We always look forward to getting the team together for a bit of over-eating, talking nonsense and just enjoying each other’s company again.

And we never once have to say “You’re on mute!” 😄

Have to say, Auld Reekie was looking splendid today, as well as having that great festival buzz about it.

Big thanks to Greenwoods Edinburgh for an excellent feed, thoroughly enjoyed it!

The fourth post in our birthday series features another of the Alliance team.

Emma Atkinson is a Creative Artworker and is one of the key players in the Alliance engine room. Always hard-working and conscientious, she is one of those people who just gets their head down and powers through so much work, all with speed and accuracy of course.

Anyone who’s worked with Emma, will testify to her dedication to her role, her want to expand her skills and to ultimately deliver top quality work for all of our clients. Admittedly, she’s not a fan of being in front of the camera, but we persuaded her into telling us a bit about why she’s been with the Alliance for over 10 years.

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like receiving a wee box of goodies now and again?

It goes without saying that it’s the goal of most suppliers to feel appreciated, and to have clients that actively involve you in their future plans, and we’re hugely thankful to Rob Taylor for doing just that over the years.

The Alliance have always aimed to nurture longer-term support with the businesses we deal with, and Rob is a fine example of how enduring those relationships can be, having called upon our expertise to support his marketing vision for four different brands now.

Thank you to the ever-thoughtful Rob for sending us this little haul of branded merch, neatly coinciding with the recent launch of the revamped LendingMetrics website and brand.

Back in early 2022, David Reid introduced us to Sports Charity Scotland, who at that time were known as the Sportsman’s Charity. Their name alone no longer represented the diversity involved within the charity, and as such, they needed a visual identity and suite of brand assets to help move them forward, reflecting the diversity of board members and charities they were involved in supporting.

Working with a core colour palette they wanted to retain, we redesigned their logo and revamped their website, creating a foundation on which to base all of their future communications.

Over the last few years, we’ve produced templated assets for their social team to utilise and to boost their online profile, created event graphics which feature heavily throughout their cornerstone annual fundraiser event at the start of the 6 Nations rugby calendar, as well as sales decks to help promote sponsors and donors.

The Alliance are proud to remain the creative sponsor for the charity, working closely with the other partners to continually help grow their visibility, and evolve their offering within the fundraising sector.
