New year, new you? More like new year, new website! 💻

I’m so pleased that at the start of the year I launched the second part of a big project, and that was a brand new website and online store for 🥳

Cynthia runs Fuelling Designs, a quilter who creates incredible hand crafted, one of a kind quilts and textiles. After putting off branding and a website for many years, she trusted me to take on this project and bring her vision to life. Here’s what she had to say…

“I cannot say enough praise for Steve and the quality of his work. I had put off branding and building a website for years because of my lack of knowledge and fear of being taken advantage of. Steve is so gracious. I felt respected, he walked me through every step, listened to my many thoughts and created an amazing logo and website for me.”

The custom design truly encapsulates the personality of the brand, bringing the features of the serif font and swash style lettering into the page design. The website consists of 5 custom pages including a blog, as well as a separate store front built using Shopify.

Thank you for trusting me with this project 🫶🏻

For anyone who might be looking for a brand new website, or even a refresh, I do have some availability. Comment or DM me ‘NEW’ and I will get in touch! 🤓

He’s alive!! Yeah I know I’ve been on a bit of an unintentional hiatus from the gram for the past few months.

To be honest at the end of last year I was really focussed on client work and sadly left everything else fall to the waist side…very naughty I know 😬 Plus I don’t know if it was just me, but the end of last year motivation was at an all time low.

I took 2 weeks off over Christmas, something I haven’t done in many many years. We went away for Christmas to Disney World in Florida and it was everything my soul needed.

Then we entered 2026, and I had such grand plans. Things I’d had on my wish list for ages. I wanted to do a little brand refresh, website refresh and loads more. Naturally, none of that happened. I just needed to ease into the new year, and try not to get too washed up in the new year new me malarky. Don’t get me wrong, I love setting new goals and seeing the new year as a great time to hit reset, I just didn’t need the extra pressure.

We’re not seeing January as a fail, just a settling in month, if that’s a thing 🧐 well it is now ha! I’ve got lots of things in my mind and planned for the year, just need to crack on with it!

How has the start of your year been?

Full brand identity for Fuelling Designs 🪡

Fuelling Designs started back in the 80’s and creates hand crafted, one of a kind quilts and textiles with the vision of creating beauty that transcends human folly, comfort in a time of insecurity and hope in unstable and changing times.

Working closely with Cynthia, the owner, she was after a full brand identity and website (coming soon) that portrayed her incredible craft as well as showing the warm and personable side of her brand. All with one goal in mind, to help her share her art with the world.

We started with an extensive strategy call where I learned all about her brand, herself and the journey she’s been on, to really absorb everything that makes her brand and more. With that I built out a design direction, and then got to designing some logo options. Once we had landed on an option, I built a full brand guide including final logo options, colour, typography and tone of voice.

It was such a pleasure to work on this project and see it all come together. We’re in the midst of the website portion of the project so I’ll be sure to share that once finished.

Let me know what you think. I’ll be sharing more in the near future.

The answer, there is no difference, both don’t make any sense 🤦🏻‍♂️

You’ve been told that consistency is key and you probably think posting more is going to fix your engagement. So you post 4x a week, spend hours designing reels, writing clever captions, trying trending audios.

You get a few likes, maybe a save but no real engagement. You check your analytics and feel more confused than ever. Next week? You do it all again, hoping this time it’s different.

But it’s not. And you’re still stuck guessing. The mistake? You’re creating content without a strategy and with no clarity.

You’re treating content like a checkbox not a tool. You think posting more will eventually “work” but without performance insights, you’re just creating noise.

It’s like throwing darts in the dark and wondering why you never hit the target.

What you actually need is performance backed content.

✨ You need to know which posts sparked DMs.
✨ Which topics your audience saves.
✨ Which format actually drives clicks.

This is exactly what I do with my clients on a daily basis. We look at what gets the most engagement and what doesn’t. This isn’t just likes, but also comments, saves, DM’s, reposts etc. Why this was, was it the time of day, the type of content, the topic? We then track it, tweak it, and build on what works.

It’s not an exact science so we need to be number led, not guesswork. Every post has a job to do.

Let me give you an example:

❌ “Let me post another motivational quote because it got 12 likes last time.”
✅ “That carousel on time saving tips drove 4 enquiries. I know, let’s expand that into a mini-series”

One is guessing. The other is strategy.

The outcome? When you create content based on what works, you stop chasing vanity metrics and start driving real results:
→ Consistent engagement
→ More leads
→ Actual confidence in your strategy

Ready to stop yelling at the toaster, DM me “TRACK” and let’s listen to the numbers and create compelling content that works.

08/08/2025

Let me guess, you had a free hour over the weekend, you smashed out 5 posts and told yourself this would be the week you got back on track. But by Wednesday, client work hijacked your day. By Friday, your energy’s gone and your content is buried in drafts.

You blame yourself for not being consistent. So what do you do the next week? You try to hustle out more content from scratch... again. Sound familiar?

Here’s the thing, you’re treating content consistency like a willpower issue when it’s actually a workflow issue. The mistake? Believing that posting more means being consistent. Without a proper strategy, that “push” will always crash into burnout.

What you actually need is a sustainable content plan that works with your schedule, not against it.

Together, this is exactly what I help my clients create:
→ Pre-planned content.
→ A bank of content templates that can be used for speed.
→ Exciting content that keeps up with current trends.

It’s not about how much you post. It’s about how smart you are behind the scenes. Here’s the difference:

Your current reality…
- Sitting down every day asking, “What should I post?
- Getting stuck editing a Reel for 2 hours
- Skipping days out of frustration and guilt

What your reality could be…
- Batching 2 weeks of content in 90 minutes
- Using reusable templates and pre-written hooks
- Scheduling posts ahead of time, even when client work gets heavy

This is what consistency actually looks like.

This is where my client S was when we first started working together. They had a lot of client work on, but when it came to their own socials, exactly what I mentioned before, it plateaued and went down the drain. And as vital as client work is, clients can come and go, so your socials need to be kept up.

When you switch from reactive to proactive, everything changes:
→ Your content gets seen
→ Your audience grows
→ Leads start landing in your inbox
→ You feel like the CEO again, not the overwhelmed intern.

If you’re done gaslighting yourself by telling yourself ‘next week is the week I become consistent” and want someone to actually support you and make it happen, DM me “CONSISTENT” and let’s get you back on on track! 💪🏻

Creativity has left the chat, but the demand for content remains.

Do you keep pushing content creation further and further down the to do list? Do you keep putting it off because it’s not something that interests you? You’re not a creative, and to be honest you need a bit of guidance on what to post? So you just quickly pull something together because you don’t have the time to figure it out and you just need to post something.

Now, you might not like what I’m about to say, but social media is power! It’s a necessity for pretty much every business going. It’s where people go to find businesses and services. Gone are the days of the yellow pages and the phone book.

This is exactly how my client ‘M’ felt. They weren’t on social media at all when I started working with them 🤯 Not because they didn’t want to or didn’t know of its importance, they just weren’t a creative and didn’t have the time to figure it out.

So when I joined the first thing I did was get them set up on Instagram and managed their account. I created the content, wrote the captions, the lot. Which resulted in them being able to grow their already established audience and they became more seen, allowing them to grow sales of their product.

If you need support with your social media management then comment ‘SOCIAL’ and let’s bring that spark back to your socials. ✨

I’m here to save you from InDesign! 🤓

Now I know most designers have a real love hate relationship with InDesign. But here are 3 tips that will inevitably save you…

✨ Master Pages! Create a master page and use this for your headers, footers, page numbers, and guides. This will really help you keep consistency across your whole document, which in turn will save you bags of time.

✨ Use layers! Something you’re already familiar with when using other Adobe products, the same goes for InDesign. Separate your text, images and guides onto separate layers. Then you can lock or hide them as required. This is really helpful when your working on a complex layout, it also makes for cleaner file management.

✨ Outsource to a professional! If you find yourself dreading having to use InDesign, outsource it to someone who loves it and can make your project look amazing!

I previously created a large project for a previous client who was working with a global consumer brand. They needed someone who could come in, take all their elements and create a bespoke and impactful design to showcase their project.

Check out my website or Portfolio highlight on Instagram, you can find an extract of this project there.

Let me be your saviour! DM the word ‘DESIGN’ and I’ll be in touch!

Is your on-boarding process as good as you think it is?

Ever had a bad on-boarding or off-boarding experience with a client before?

Have you ever had to go back to the client several times because you forgot to give them the link to the file sharing folder? And then gave them the wrong one. Have you forgot to ask their preferred method of communication so end up DM’ing them on Instagram? Have you even forgot to agree a deadline?

It happens, we’re all human, but you’re now worried the client has zero faith in you.

On-boarding and off-boarding is a key part of working with a new client. This is where all the finer details are outlined and agreed by both parties to ensure a smooth working relationship with each other. Without one, you could end up in a world of pain.

Someone I previously worked with had a really complex on-boarding process. They worked with a lot of manufacturers and there was a lot of elements that had to be considered.

I was brought on to lead an area of a project where an element of this was to review and simplify the on-boarding process.

I worked with all parties involved, removed un-necessary steps and simplified what was necessary. Making it easier on both parties and also reducing the time it took to onboard them.

This not only gave clarity and time back, but it made sure nothing was missed and everyone was on the same page from the start.

If you need support with your on-boarding or off-boarding then DM me the word ‘PROCESS’ and I’ll get back to you!

Are you sick of starting every message with ‘Sorry for the delay’?

Or something to that effect anyway! Does late night replies and missing messages sound familiar? Have you even missed out on a fab business opportunity because you didn’t see a message? You’re certainly not alone, I speak to so many people and they are often up replying to DM’s, emails, you name it late into the evening/night. And that’s from full-time business owners to people running a side hustle.

I’m here to tell you that this isn’t sustainable, for your business or your mental health. A client I started working with was in a similar position. I started working with them on email management, email marketing and online course content which gave them so much time back. Now nothing risks getting lost and they aren’t up all hours replying to messages.

If you’re in need of support, DM me the word ‘DM’ and let’s get you out of late night messaging!
