ThemAfrica doesn’t have a food problem.
Africa has a decision problem — caused by a data gap.
As someone deeply invested in Agritech and youth employment in Africa, one thing is clear to me:
We won’t create decent jobs in agriculture by romanticizing farming.
We’ll do it by professionalizing it.
Today, too many young farmers and agribusiness founders are forced to operate blind — without reliable data on soil, climate, inputs, yields, or markets.
That’s not innovation.
That’s gambling.
The real revolution in African agriculture is not drones or apps.
It is clarity.
Clarity that allows young farmers to:
• Predict, not guess
• Manage risk, not absorb it
• Build enterprises, not just survive seasons
Better data → Better decisions → Better jobs → Stronger food systems.
This is where Agritech meets youth employment.
And this is where Africa wins.
What’s the one decision in your agribusiness you wish data could help you make better today?
