There are a lot of smartphone designers who have limited themselves mentally, just because of what other pc designers have told them or heard them saying.
Of the truth, when most people tell you you can't do something, it's not you who can't do it, they are just telling you what they can't do. So don't let others'limitations be your limitation too.
Yes, I understand and know that Photoshop is the standard requirement when it comes to graphic design, but that doesn't mean using a smartphone is useless or ineffective.
Let's be sincere here, everything has both a good and bad side. Irrespective of Photoshop being the standard requirement, it still has some disadvantage as compared to pixellab...
Below are 2 major disadvantages of Photoshop over Pixellab;
1. You can design with your smartphone anywhere and everywhere unlike PC users. I can't count the number of times I have designed in a public transport, but a pc user can't bring out his PC to work on a design in the same public transport. In fact you can't carry your laptop with you to all parts, but you can with your phone.
2. Without a power source, your PC can't last for more than 5 hours. But your smartphone can last for at least 8 to 10 hours after charge.
Note that Photoshop,Figma, core draw and any other pc design doesn't produce creativity. In fact, you can't be creative automatically just because you installed Photoshop or Pixellab. I remember somewhere last year, a creative designer I know on Facebook was doing stuff with this yellow Pixellab, for whatever reasons I also decided to use that app.
Fast forward I did my search and got the app downloaded. When I opened it, I saw nothing new and the Lord ministered to me that "YOU WILLNT GET BETTER JUST WITH THE APP".
There are a lot of smartphone designers out there who do much better with their smartphone than PC users. So instead of looking at the tool look at mastery rather.
What you can do with your tool is what matters.
Don't place any limitations on yourself. Creativity is in you and not your tool or software. Think of how to bring out the best in your with the tools or software.
I am not making this post to make any comparison, but to inspire you to bring out the best in you. That's what is needed.
You can be creative with your smartphone too. I know a lot of people out there creating magic with just their smartphone, myself not excluded.
As a smartphone designer, if you see any design that was achieved using a PC,try to replicate it with your smartphone, that is how we grow.
Try to challenge yourself on this and see how far you could go.
As a graphic designer what app do you use, and are you bringing out the best in you with your software? Let's have a discussion in the comment section.
