Securing Digital Trust | Strengthening Guyana’s Cyber Resilience 🇬🇾

The LugeTech team was pleased to participate in the recently held Guyana Police Force Symposium on Cybersecurity where we delivered a presentation and contributed to a panel discussion on the growing importance of cybersecurity in Guyana’s evolving digital landscape.

As Guyana continues to embrace digital transformation, the need to protect our institutions, critical infrastructure, businesses and essential public services has never been greater.

Our presentation focused on three critical pillars of cybersecurity:

🔴 THREATS | Understanding the Danger
Examining the evolving global cyber threat landscape, including organised cybercrime, sophisticated attacks and real-world incidents that demonstrate the financial and operational consequences of cyber threats.

🔵 EXPOSURE | Identifying the Weaknesses
Highlighting the importance of identifying vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. We also introduced **LugeScan**, our cybersecurity scanning platform designed to help organisations better understand their digital exposure and take proactive steps to address potential risks.

🟢 RESILIENCE | Building Lasting Protection
Exploring how internationally recognised standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 can help organisations strengthen information security governance, manage risks, protect sensitive data and build long-term cyber resilience.

Our participation in the panel discussion further reinforced the importance of collaboration, awareness and shared responsibility in addressing cybersecurity challenges.

Our message remains clear: Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT concern. It is a national priority that directly impacts economic stability, institutional resilience and public trust.

We extend our appreciation to the Guyana Police Force for providing a platform for these important discussions and for bringing together stakeholders committed to strengthening Guyana’s cybersecurity landscape.

What an incredible milestone for Team Lugetech!
For the very first time, we stepped into the Innovation Challenge 2026, hosted by the Industry and Innovation Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister and sponsored by SBM Offshore Guyana, and emerged with an impressive 2nd place finish among 15 competing teams.

Over the course of an intense 72-hour tech marathon, our team was challenged to think differently, innovate boldly, collaborate under pressure, and turn an idea into something with real potential.

For our first time entering the competition, this achievement means even more. It reminds us what can happen when creativity, technology, determination, and teamwork come together.

But this is only the beginning.

The product we developed during the challenge has sparked something much bigger, and Team Lugetech plans to continue building, refining, and developing it in the near future.

We’re proud of how far we came in just 72 hours—and even more excited about where we can take it next.
