Speaking on a panel at BATIC 2026 last week, our CEO Frederick Chui shared his insights on how to build resilient subsea and fibre infrastructure at the pace global demand now requires ๐.
The answer is not simply more capital or capacity - it is stronger collaboration.
As AI, cloud and digital services drive demand, the industry must evolve how subsea cable systems are delivered. While large consortiums remain essential for long-haul routes, smaller, committed partnerships can help accelerate strategic corridors when designed to scale over time.
To support faster decision-making, Frederick highlighted the need for earlier coordination and greater visibility across carriers, suppliers, governments and hyperscalers. Industry initiatives like the Global Leadership Forum's Subsea Supply Chain Taskforce are important for sharing insights and building more diverse, resilient connectivity.
The path forward for the industry is clear: collaborate earlier, plan more openly and build scalability and resilience into every new route.
