Rooted in the Glass Society of Ireland ‘Of Sand & Ash’ is a portrait of makers continually shaping what glass in Ireland can be. Moving through its chapters, visitors experience glass not as a single tradition but as a living, expansive field of making. Together, the works reflect the skill, generosity and momentum of a community expanding what glass can be.
🔥
The Glass Society of Ireland, in partnership with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, is delighted to invite you to the opening of our milestone exhibition, ‘Of Sand & Ash’ celebrating contemporary glass practice in Ireland.

Wow, what a special evening!!

Feeling so grateful for my time as a resident artist at Leitrim Sculpture Centre, and for the beautiful community in Manorhamilton that made the experience so special.

A huge thank you to Brian Leach and Jane Willow for closing The Long Pause: Ecology of Ruins I with such stunning music.

The audio is Jane Willow’s Let There Be Light, with Brian Leach accompanying on hammer dulcimer.

Thank you to for putting on the event. And the Sculpture Centre for being such a great host!

Please give us a follow as the next chapter begins.

THE LONG PAUSE is coming to a close, but the work feels as alive as ever.
🌱
This Saturday we gather to celebrate the closing of The Long Pause: Ecology of Ruins I at Leitrim Sculpture Centre, with live music from Brian Leach and Jane Willow.

A final evening for thanks, reflection, music, conversation, being together in the work, and opening the door to what comes next with Studio Dúlra.

The Long Pause
Ecology of Ruins I

Still gathering myself after Friday night….my first solo exhibition opening. 🥹

Thank you to everyone who came, lingered, listened, asked questions, and shared the room with the work. To witness these pieces finally breathing in space, after months of making, carrying, burning, breaking, rebuilding, is something I won’t forget.

This exhibition grew from places where life returns quietly: rusted metal, discarded glass, bog water, tools left still, matter changing shape over time.

Grateful to all who helped bring it into being, and to everyone who stepped inside it.

Open now until 23/05.
