🚛 That’s a wrap on the Tipperary Truck Show 2025!

Despite the classic Irish grey and windy weather, we had a fantastic weekend at the show. We had some great chats, connected with familiar faces, and met plenty of new ones, too.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand. We loved showing you how Road Mate can make daily checks faster, simpler, and paper-free.

And a special thanks to all the staff who helped us battle the elements and keep the Road Mate tent standing, true teamwork! 💪

Look, I don’t want to be the office baddie.
I’d rather be having a cuppa than chasing down logbooks with mystery coffee stains and pages missing since February.
But when RSA inspections are around the corner and the CVRT vanished into thin air...
It’s me, calling you, asking the dreaded question:
“Where’s the daily check sheet for Tuesday?”
Here’s the good news:

Technology, Compliance & The Road Ahead – Are We Getting It Right?

This Valentine’s Day, while we celebrate connection and relationships, it is a good time to reflect on another kind of partnership, the one between technology, compliance, and the people who rely on both every day. ❤️
We live in a world that’s more connected and automated than ever. Systems are built to make life easier, to simplify complex rules, and to streamline the way we work.

But here’s the thing: technology on its own isn’t enough.

We talk a lot about innovation, automation, and digital solutions, but ultimately, technology means nothing without people.
Rules exist for a reason: to keep roads safe and protect people, but they can sometimes feel disconnected from the realities of day-to-day work. That’s where technology should step in to bridge that gap, not make it wider.
Every day, we work with RSA rules and regulations. Still, the challenge is ensuring that technology isn’t disconnected from how drivers, fleet managers, and businesses operate in the real world. We need to ensure that it doesn’t just become another layer of complexity among the layers of red tape that already exist.

Take the Commercial Vehicle Operator Risk Indicator (CVORI), for example. It’s designed to highlight which operators are at higher risk based on compliance data. In theory, that makes sense, but how useful is it in practice? Do hauliers feel like this system helps them stay compliant, or does it just add pressure without enough support to improve?

Compliance systems like CVORI have a role to play, but they only work if they help the people they are meant to serve.
Highlighting risk is one thing, but giving operators the right tools and support to stay compliant is another.

So, where do we go from here?

How do we ensure that technology works with people, not against them?
The goal should always be smarter, not just stricter, a system that doesn’t just flag problems but helps solve them.
