Hipparchus, a Greek mathematician, presented the idea of trigonometry, one of the most important branches of mathematics. It describes six functions: sin, cos, tan, sec, cosec, and cot.
Trigonometry uses trigonometric ratios to define the angles and incomplete sides of a triangle. Angles in trigonometry that are widely used are 0ยฐ, 30ยฐ, 45ยฐ, 60ยฐ, 90ยฐ, 15 ยฐ, and 18ยฐ (angles are measured in radians or degrees).
You should already be acquainted with algebra and geometry before learning trigonometry. You should be comfortable working with algebraic expressions and solving equations from algebra. From geometry, you should be able to understand the Pythagorean theorem, angles, and a few other things.
Trigonometry is like other mathematics. Take your time. Write things down. Draw figures. Work out the exercises which will keep on updating regularly.
