In 1950, Alberto and Lina opened their jewelry boutique, naming it “La Campanina” based on their life experiences. For Lina, it recalls the days when American soldiers visiting Capri would buy Saint Michael’s bells from her mother’s shop as lucky charms. This inspired the idea to send a valuable model of the bell to the U.S. President as good wishes for the end of the war.
⠀
Alberto, who collaborated with the Allied Forces, read with pride that the bell given to President Roosevelt by the people of Capri was rung to mark the end of the conflict and to wish peace.
⠀
The name symbolizes fortune, love, and happiness, inspiring the Federico family to continue the tradition. The innovative style and craftsmanship of Alberto and Lina’s jewelry made La Campanina a reference for the international jet set.
⠀
Today, Marcello and Roberta, with their mother Mariolì, continue this tradition, welcoming clients year after year in the same shop where it all started over 70 years ago. The values of hospitality, warmth, and client care have been passed down in the family, offering clients a unique and tailored buying experience 💎
