The Cyber Security Leadership and innovation program is being offered by USIU- Africa in collaboration with industry practitioners(ATCH). We realized that there exists a gap between academia cyber security training and hands-on practice in the industry. The program seeks to bridge that gap.
In Kenya, there has been a lack of proper legal structure to address cyber crime; however The National Assembly recently passed the Computer and Cyber Crime bill 2017. The bill is awaiting presidents assent in the next few weeks which once done will require compliance from all organizations.
In addition, the financial industry has been experiencing huge financial losses emanating from cyber risks. Recent cyber security report indicated that Kenya lost over $210 million from cyber crime. That has a devastating effect on the economy and businesses affected. The effects of cyber crime to the economy prompted the Central Bank of Kenya(CBK) to release the Guidance note on Cyber Security which requires all financial institutions to comply and report on cyber risks incidents to CBK.
Cyber Security Leadership and Innovation Program offers a 3-day immersive training that culminates to a 6 months mentorship program. Our participants get hands on skills which they can implement at their organization with guidance from our pool of practitioners as part of the mentorship program.
The program is ideal for Chief Financial Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Operating Offers and other senior managers.
