Grammy-winning engineer Dave Clauss has built his reputation mixing Latin superstars like Shakira, Carlos Vives, and Maná. His work has earned him seven Grammy wins (including five Latin Grammys) and, most recently, a 2025 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album for Shakira's "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran."

When mixing immersive audio for these projects, he relies on Seventh Heaven Professional and Cinematic Rooms Professional: "I use Seventh Heaven constantly on almost every source; the rooms and halls are simply unmatched in my opinion. Both Seventh Heaven and Cinematic Rooms have become essential in my Atmos workflow. Being able to take my stems and reverb sends then expand them into an immersive environment while perfectly preserving the original vibe and 'weight' of the mix is a game-changer."

For engineers working in Atmos who seek reverb that preserves the emotional impact and sonic character of their stereo mixes, Seventh Heaven Professional and Cinematic Rooms Professional deliver the precision and depth needed for award-winning results.

Ken Freeman is a live front-of-house engineer for top acts, including Steve Lukather's iconic band Toto. Running Seventh Heaven Professional in Apple's MainStage, he's made it an essential part of his touring rig, using up to twelve premium reverb instances in his mixing workflow:

"No matter where I am, from giant arena rock to a small jazz session or an orchestral recording, LiquidSonics products have become some of my must-have plugins. The entire product seems transparent, silky and smooth, with a user interface that is both intuitive and complete. The Bricasti M7 has always been a favorite for its natural sound and Seventh Heaven is the closest emulation I've found as a plugin."

We caught up with Oscar and two-time Grammy-winning producer, engineer and mixer Robert L. Smith to find out about an ambitious on-location Celtic music recording session at Cold Comfort Farm in rural New Hampshire, where he built a full studio from scratch inside a barn in under a day before embarking upon a week of productive tracking in sweltering heat - only to discover back in New York that the real challenges were only just beginning.

Using the natural reverb of the space had been a key objective for the project, but a growing number of detailed edits rapidly began to erode Robert’s latitude to incorporate the barn’s beautiful ambient room captures into the mix.

Robert shared how LiquidSonics reverbs came to the rescue, providing a convincing and cohesive space that stood up to the scrutiny of the original artistic intent by presenting the music within the unmistakable room acoustic aesthetics of the natural communal venues that are the sonic bedrock of traditional Irish music.

Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dimitri Tikovoï has worked with artists including Ghost, Charli XCX, and The Libertines. He recently started mixing with LiquidSonics' Seventh Heaven reverb and has quickly added it to his template. At a recent session at RAK Studios, London, he shared his thoughts:

"I've been genuinely impressed. Seventh Heaven delivers an incredibly lush, natural-sounding reverb that sits beautifully in the mix. It's intuitive, musical, and adds that unmistakable depth and realism I've been looking for. I've already found myself reaching for it on multiple projects, and I can confidently say it's become a go-to in my workflow."

Ask Hans-Martin Buff about reverb, and the conversation does not begin with a list of favourite plug-ins. It begins with a joke at his own expense:

“I’m such a princess about reverbs,” he laughs. “I’m really picky about what they do and how long they’re allowed to hang around.”

His instinct, shaped by years of relatively dry Prince mixes and a later obsession with recording real rooms, is to start with acoustics whenever the opportunity exists and then use plug-ins to finesse what reality has given him.

Our latest interview deep-dive with Hans-Martin showcases his unique approach to reverb and room recording for his Grammy-nominated Tearjerkers album and Peter Gabriel’s Grammy-winning i/o (In-Side Mix) with audio demos and actionable tips.

Swedish mix engineer Stefan Boman has mixed metal productions for bands like Opeth, Ghost, and Graveyard. LiquidSonics’ Seventh Heaven Professional is one of his go-to choices for reverb:

“With metal music, you have to be careful not to overdo it with reverb. But LiquidSonics‘ Seventh Heaven is really suitable for it, because it feels very transparent. Ninety percent of the time, I use the Sunset Chamber preset.“

Exhaustively and meticulously sampled, Seventh Heaven Professional is the most comprehensive and realistic simulation of the Bricasti M7 available. Seventh Heaven Professional offers the distinctive sound of the M7 in multi-channel environments up to 9.1.6. Although Stefan owns a Bricasti M7 hardware reverb unit, he also utilises the Seventh Heaven Professional plugin, particularly when working in Dolby Atmos.

How do you add spatial depth to an immersive mix without making it sound wetter than the stereo version?

UK engineer Mark Gittins faced this exact challenge when mixing Judas Priest's Grammy-nominated "Invincible Shield" and Dream Theater's "Parasomnia" in Dolby Atmos for legendary producer Andy Sneap.

His innovative solution leverages Seventh Heaven Professional as a spatialiser rather than a traditional reverb, heavily favouring early reflections over late tail.

"It's essentially invisible as a reverb," Mark explains. "You can't hear that I've added any reverb to the mix, but you get the spatial benefit."

This technique has become the cornerstone of his immersive workflow when translating stereo stems to immersive mixes. In our in-depth interview, Mark breaks down the spatialiser approach, shares specific metal mixing presets, and explains why Seventh Heaven Professional is the only immersive reverb he owns.
