Last year, we visited Pinewood Studios Post Production to film with re-recording mixer Jasper Thorn and senior mix technician Fergus Pateman, capturing their work in some of the most prestigious mixing theatres in the world.

Spending time at Pinewood is a privilege. After filming, the team generously set aside time for us to enjoy some pieces mixed in the room, and it's fair to say the Pressburger Theatre is a remarkable space for anyone with a passion for high-fidelity TV and film audio. It's genuinely one of the best rooms we've ever heard.

LiquidSonics is proud to supply reverb tools to the team at Pinewood Post Production that meet the workflow and sonic demands found when working at the highest level in our industry. Thanks to the entire production crew for their exceptional professionalism in taking this project from the first conversations through to the finished videos.

Grammy and Emmy award-winning Greg Hayes is a Los Angeles-based recording engineer, music mixer, and owner of SoundGMH Productions Inc., who has worked on a wide range of albums across multiple genres, along with hundreds of high-profile scores for film, TV, and even Formula 1 sports broadcasts.

Senior mix technician Fergus Pateman and re-recording mixer Jasper Thorn from Pinewood Studios Post Production explain how Cinematic Rooms Professional's surround editing planes allow you to precisely shape reverberation across the surround field, all within a single plugin instance.

Cinematic Rooms Professional allows you to define distinct reverb characteristics in different regions of the room with just a couple of button presses using its surround editing planes. Every parameter scales as a percentage of the master, making it intuitive to extend the reverb tail in the rears, emphasise reflections at the top of the room, or create a more diffuse decay behind the listener, all while tracking any changes to the master preset.

For post production workflows where speed is essential, the presets give you a great starting point, but the depth of control is always there when you need it.
