Obituary Announcement

The Blake, Morris, Dennis, Mulbah, Skinner, Hoff, and Coleman families deeply regret to announce the passing of their son, brother, and father, the late Commissioner Charles B. Blake of the Liberia National Police (LNP)

Commissioner Blake passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the hour of 12:54 PM after a period of illness.

The second family meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the family residence in Mamba Point, Monrovia.

Commissioner Blake's body is currently deposited at the St. Moses Funeral Parlour on the Japanese Freeway pending funeral and burial Rites.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, A Book of Condolence Will Be Open at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP ) On Capitol Hill Beginning at 10:00 AM.

On Friday, January 10, 2025, There Will Be Two Hours Of WakeKeeping Beginning At 9:00- 11:00am Followed By Funeral Service By 11:30am At Providence Baptist Church On Broad And Ashmun Streets In Central Monrovia.

The Late Commissioner Will Be Finally laid To Rest On Saturday January 11, 2025 In Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

Anyone wishing to sympathize with the bereaved family can do so at the family residence in Mamba Point.

Meanwhile, The family extends its sincere appreciation to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult period of bereavement.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

MOJ Authorizes Autopsy on Boulevard Palace General Manager Anwar Fultoo's body.

On December 31, 2024, the lifeless Body of Boulevard Palace Manager Anwar's Fultoo was discovered in the bathroom at his friend's house on 9th street where he had gone for visit.

It has been alleged that he took a chemical that is used for cleaning. The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Justice has since authorized an autopsy to establish the actual cause of Futloo's death.

The information was disclosed by Police Inspector General Gregary Coleman on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police while interacting with the media.

Simon Davies, the CPP driver who allegedly ran away with the 70k has been arrested.

It can be recorded that about a month ago, Semeon allegedly ran away with US 70k intended to fund the December 17, "We Tiyah Suffering Rally".

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, Semeon was arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and has been transferred to Monrovia by the SL National Police to face justice.

Semeon was the driver for CPP SG, Martin Kollah, prior to the incident.
Now that Semeon has been arrested, the public is expected to know the truth behind this entire issue....!!!!!

Fonati Koffa misused over 1 million Public funds as head of President Sirleaf Special Presidential task force to prosecute Corrupt officials in the Global Witness Saga!

After serving years in jail for criminal charges against him in the US, one would have thought that Fonati Koffa would be a changed man after he was appointed by former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to head the Special Presidential Task Force (SPTF) investigating the damning Global Witness (GW) report on senior Liberian government officials

He has refused to leave his black hand behind.

It's hard to accept the argument from the office of the Deputy Speaker, that he's paid his due to society and repented after being found guilty and sentenced on felony charges in the United States, because not too long, it was the Cllr. Fonati Koffa who received 1 million plus United States Dollars having been appointed by Pres. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to head a Special Presidential Task Force (SPTF) investigating the damning Global Witness (GW) report on senior Liberian government officials

The amount was even contested by Sen. Varney Sherman to be 4.5 million given to the Koffa's team. Regrettably, the task force headed by the felon in Cllr. Koffa didn’t prosecute one person.

The Liberian people demands to know how the money was spent, why no result, and why he (Koffa) didn’t give any leftovers.

Meet the first Igbo lawyer who became Liberia’s 5th president in 1870

Edward James Roye is Liberia's fifth president

He is noted in Nigeria as the first recorded lawyer of Igbo descent in history. In Liberia, however, Edward James Roye is well-known as the country’s fifth president whose administration was short-lived and who died under rather mysterious circumstances.

Celebrated as the first pure black person to become president of Liberia, Roye was a “pure descendant of the Igbo tribe from Nigeria”. His father, John Roye, was an Igbo slave in Ohio, America who later gained his freedom and became an illustrious merchant with considerable wealth and land in many cities.

Born on February 3, 1815, in Newark, Ohio, Roye would benefit from the financial standing of his family and attend one of the best schools – Ohio University in neighbouring Athens, Ohio.

Following the death of his father in 1836, Roye relocated to Terre Haute where he became famous for establishing the largest barber shop in the community, boasting a 79-foot (24 m) high barber pole, “the tallest in western Indiana” .

In the midst of his fame and success was the American Colonisation Society that was then encouraging free African-Americans to move to the colony of Liberia in West Africa to live in a “prejudice-free nation”.

Not having any ties to the United States after the death of his mother in 1840, Roye decided to make that journey. On May 2, 1846, at the age of 31, he left New York with the rest of his family and arrived in Monrovia, Liberia’s capital, June 7.

There, he improved and within two years, he was already Liberia’s top shipping merchant. He also became active in Liberian politics and by 1849, he was the Speaker of the Liberian House of Representatives as well as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia from 1865 until 1868.

Was one who once said that Liberia was
“decreed to champion the black race and should be governed only by ‘pure Africans,’” Roye was in 1870 elected president of Liberia. This made him the first member of Liberia’s True Whig Party (oldest political party in Liberia founded by Americo-Liberians) to serve as President.

“I do not expect immunity from the criticisms of our opponents, nor do I ask for it,” Roye said in his inaugural address.

The Ohio Historical Society refers to Edward James Roye as the "ninth and forgotten president from Ohio." While in a land far away from the "land of Legend" he is known by some as the "Lincoln of Liberia."

B**g: Over 6 Million Liberian Dollars worth of narcotic substances (co***ne & he**in) allegedly impounded from two Nigerian Nationals.

(Sept. 2, 2022): Two Nigerian Nationals have been arrested for their alleged possessions of narcotic substances (Co***ne & he**in) valued at a little over $41, 000 US ($L 6, 000,000) in Gbarnga.

The two suspects, Nwachukwu Chigzie-42 and Stanley Igbo- 46 have denied their involvement in the sale of drugs.

According to Thomas Saye, the commander of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency-B**g County Detachment suspects Chigzie and Ibo were apprehended on Friday, September 2, 2022, at their Business Centers in Gbarnga after the LDEA was alerted by a lady (name withheld) that the two suspects are involved in drugs dealing.

Commander Saye explained that Chigzie & Igbo have been charged and will be forwarded to court for prosecution.
