Day 5: The Honest Post. Two Things I Am Still Working On

Day 5 of Week 2. The honest update.

Twitter: The X Developer Console shows a pay-per-use plan with zero credits. Posting via API requires buying credits — mandatory minimum. Paused until I am ready to commit to that cost with full understanding.

Facebook API: I spent the afternoon trying to connect the Facebook API to my automation workflow so this page can be managed automatically. The access token is the blocker. Followed every step. Not through yet.

This page is a real record of what building with AI looks like. Some days end without a resolution. That is part of the process.

Both get resolved. Recap tomorrow.

Day 4: My Automation Sent a Personalised Email to Each Person Who Filled the Form

Day 4 of Week 2. This is the part worth reading.

Today my automation sent personalised emails to each person who filled the form using their name, their details, and a message specific to their situation.

The workflow did it automatically. I did not write a single individual email. I did not press send once.

The chain: Form submitted → Switch reads the data → identifies the case → selects the right message → sends a personalised email to that person.

Every person got something that felt written for them. Because in a sense it was — built once, executed automatically for everyone.

As a VA I have done this manually for years. This week the automation did it.

Day 5 tomorrow.

Day 3: I Built a Switch Node. This Is Where the Automation Starts Making Decisions

Day 3 of my Week 2 AI automation update.

Today I added a Switch node to my n8n workflow.

In simple terms: the Switch reads what someone submitted, compares it to conditions I set, and sends the workflow down the right path based on the result. Different answer — different path. Different path different action.

Before this, the workflow was collecting information. Now it evaluates it and decides what happens next.

As a VA who has done this decision-making manually for years reading submissions, choosing the right response, sending one at a time, watching an automation handle that logic was a moment worth documenting.

Swipe through. Day 4 tomorrow personalised emails go out to each person.

Day 1 of Week 2: I Connected Google to My Automation Tool — This Is What the Process Looked Like

Swipe through these images. These are my actual screens from today.

I connected Google Drive and Google Sheets to n8n — the automation tool I run locally through Docker on my laptop.

The process: create an app in Google Cloud Console, enable two APIs, generate credentials, and bring them into n8n. When I tried to sign in, Google blocked me with Error 403 because my app is in testing mode and my own email was not on the approved list yet.

Added it. Signed in. Connected.

No subscription. No paid service. My laptop, Docker, n8n, and a Google account.

Day 2 tomorrow.

Docker running. n8n live. First workflow built and tested.

I created a form called "AI Video Generation Masterclass," sent it out, and the automation captured the submission without any manual input on my end. Swipe to see the full sequence — from the workflow editor to the confirmation screen.

No staged screenshots. No course material. This is my actual screen, my setup, my first working automation.

Building in public from here. Follow for Week 2.
