By Judith Oraeki-Anigbogu

Barely a week after his appointment as Special Adviser on Youth Reformation, Dr. Nelson Omenugha has intensified efforts to advance Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Youth Reformation Agenda, calling on stakeholders to work together in raising responsible, disciplined and value driven young people across Anambra State.

Speaking during the 8:00 a.m. edition of ABS Television's Good Morning Anambra programme on Aug. 4, Dr. Omenugha discussed the theme, "Youth Reformation in Anambra: Raising Responsible Citizens for a Better Future," highlighting the need to rebuild positive values, strengthen character, promote civic responsibility and instill a renewed sense of purpose among young people.

He said youth reformation remains a key pillar of the Soludo administration's vision of building a safer, more productive and globally competitive Anambra, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved when young people embrace discipline, integrity, hard work and responsible citizenship.

Dr. Omenugha identified the media as a critical partner in shaping public attitudes and promoting positive behavioural change, noting that through responsible reporting and value based programming, the media can inspire young people, celebrate exemplary conduct and encourage responsible decision making.

According to him, the success of the Youth Reformation Agenda depends on the collective commitment of families, schools, local government authorities, faith based organisations, traditional institutions, community leaders, the media and citizens working together to nurture a generation equipped with the right values and leadership qualities.

The special adviser commended the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) for providing a platform to engage the public on issues of youth development and social transformation, describing the discussion as timely and essential to the state's development agenda.

He urged Ndi Anambra to watch the full interview and support ongoing efforts to build a generation of responsible, productive and patriotic youths who will contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and development of the state.

Need a Government Service? Just Ask SmartGov

By Angela Nwanodu

For many Ndi Anambra, accessing government services often begins with questions like: How do I pay my taxes? How do I obtain a Certificate of Occupancy for my land? How do I register my business in Anambra? I need to see a doctor; can I access healthcare services online? Finding answers to these questions should not require unnecessary delays, multiple visits to government offices, or uncertainty about where to begin.

This is the idea behind SmartGov, a smart digital platform where Ndi Anambra can simply ask questions about government services, receive instant and accurate responses from an intelligent assistant that understands their needs, and get guided access. SmartGov brings government services closer to Ndi Anambra through a simple conversational experience.

The platform was built around citizen self-service, empowering residents to access information and navigate government services independently, anytime, and from anywhere. Whether seeking information about taxes, land services, business registration, healthcare or other government services, SmartGov provides a simpler way for Ndi Anambra to find the right information and take the next step.

Using SmartGov is simple. Users only need to ask a question about any government service and the platform's intelligent assistant called "NORA" processes the request using verified government information sources, before providing accurate and actionable information, including direct links where available.

Through this approach, technology is helping to reduce barriers between government and the people while creating a faster and more responsive service experience. SmartGov reflects Anambra State's continued commitment to using innovation and digital solutions to improve public service delivery and support Governor Chukwuma Soludo's vision of a digitally driven State.

According to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, "SmartGov is part of our broader e-governance efforts aimed at making government services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to Ndi Anambra.

"Digital transformation is not just about adopting technology; it is about using innovation to improve the way government delivers services, engages with the people, and creates a better experience for every residents.

"We encourage Ndi Anambra to explore the platform and share their feedback via "https://smart.anambrastate.gov.ng/feedback". Continuous feedback will help us to continue improving SmartGov and ensure it better serves the needs of Ndi Anambra," he said.
