Microsoft Update Causes Localhost Errors on Windows 11 Leading to Mass Uninstall

Microsoft’s October 2025 update for Windows 11 has caused a major problem for developers. After installing update KB5066835, computers can no longer connect to their own local servers (localhost). This breaks apps used for building and testing websites, such as those in Visual Studio.

The issue comes from a system file called HTTP.sys, which now has trouble handling local traffic. Developers say uninstalling KB5066835 or KB5065789 fixes the issue. Some also found that turning off HTTP/2 in the settings can help, but it’s only a temporary fix. Microsoft has not yet released an official solution, though the problem does not affect clean installs of Windows 11 24H2.
