When it is said that "religion is the o***m of the masses" the same masses argue about it.
Going to church does not make you righteous just as going to school does not validate that you are educated.
We are mostly covering up for lapses or emotional voids with our religious acts believing that because we have done an act consistently, we are entitled to various realms of success.
It is a way of appealing to your conscience and it works only within your conscience.
God cannot be mocked, he knows those who are His.
The story of the Samaritan says a lot. The icons of religion cast but a passing glance and a Samaritan who should be judged instantly took a different turn.
If you don't get what I am saying, no issues.
With time and right situations you will understand better than life is more of taking decisions in line with your purpose rather than being present in every church service.
I once told my pastor that if I had a lecture in school with my students and a service in church at the same time, I will choose the lecture over the service and he asked why.
There are many reasons but I told him this.
My class is a mixed multitude, there are people of other faiths and no faith, there are youths without directions, cultists, yahoo boys and various sets of people who need to see a life they can emulate.
Will you rather I leave souls that should be won by lifestyle and come and assemble with believers who already know their paths.
Who would you rather go for, the 99 or the 1?
I told him that I value the question "How are your lectures?" Or " How is business?" to " Why didn't you come to church on Monday?"
If you notice your religious activities are becoming more than your commitment to purpose or your stewardship in your primary place of work then check it.
Religious people won't agree and they shouldn't.
I am Enyinnaya Charles Onuoha and I stand to be corrected.
