What do you understand by Virtual Reality (VR) technology? VR is a technology that immerses a person in a computer world. VR glasses are used to enter the world of technology. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram), has a vision that by 2030 we will begin to present our lives through VR technology and the Metaverse.

Let's see, Virtual Reality will allow you to do things from the comfort of your home, you can join a class at ABU Zaria directly from your room in Kano State, you can watch a football match as if you were in a stadium in the country, you can travel virtually through "Virtual tourism", you can see your brother who lives in America, you are in Nigeria, you will see him and even greet him, as if you were there.. 😅

The way it works is that you and your partner wear a VR headset (e.g. Meta Quest). You then enter a virtual space (like a room, a market, or a place) created in VR. There you will see each other as avatars (your representatives in the VR world). You can talk, look at each other, and do things together, as if you were sitting next to each other, while each person is in their own home, he is in America, and you are in Nigeria.
But your physical bodies will not meet, only the technology will allow you to be together.

For example: You can have a “virtual meeting” in an office where everyone is at home, but you will meet as if you were in the office. You can also go and do “virtual shopping” together. (Virtual Shops provided by VR Technology) You can sit with your girlfriend who lives in Kano and chat as if you were in her house. VR technology cannot allow you to go and meet someone physically so that you can touch each other, but it will allow you to meet and talk to each other and everyone is watching each other in the VR world. What do you say?
