**ALLEGED ₦4.9 MILLION VEHICLE FRAUD: 56-YEAR-OLD ARRAIGNED IN IBADAN**

A 56-year-old man, **John Yakubu**, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates' Court in Ibadan over an alleged ₦4.9 million vehicle purchase fraud.

According to the police, the defendant allegedly collected ₦4.9 million from a buyer after promising to sell a Toyota Corolla but failed to deliver the vehicle. He is facing charges of obtaining money by false pretences and stealing.

The defendant pleaded **not guilty** to the charges. The court granted him bail in the sum of **₦1 million** with two reliable sureties and adjourned the case until **27 October 2026** for hearing.
