On the 10th of February 2022, Tech4Ag through its mDairy project empowered 20 women dairy farmers with Free Mobile Tablets which contains the mDairy App in Iseyin Local Government area of Oyo State. This app contains relevant dairy information, videos and services on animal health, milk hygiene, nutrition, pasture development, etc.

This Fulani Female beneficiaries who supply fresh milk produce to FC Wampco were selected from 5 clusters in Oyo namely- Alaga, Maya, Iseyin, Fashola and Saki.

This initiative is the first of its kind aimed at promoting digital literacy, inclusion, and awareness as well as boosting mobile phone ownership among marginalized women dairy farmers.

This will make digital services like the mDairy platform accessible, and understandable while ensuring every women dairy farmer is involved in the process.

Musa, is a young Fulani and
educated dairy farmer, a father, based in Akele, a rural community in Iseyin, Oyo State. As a pastoralist, Musa and his colleagues in dairy business are faced with various challenges as encroachment, poor access to education, energy,
water, transport, health among others. They live in thatched houses, without hope of light, trek miles to get to the town, teachers often don't come to school
at miles away from the community. The FC Dairy Development Programme (DDP) has done well in changing the status quo of farmers but further seeks new ways to do more for the dairy farmers.

However, as a participant of the Dutch-Nigerian Student Business Challenge'17 working in team with FrieslandCampina WAMPCO, provided a unique opportunity to design an innovative business and
entrepreneurial solution that will improve the livelihood, milk production and access to market of people like Musa and others.

Meeting and engaging this brilliant young dairy farmer gave a new insight into communal clashes with herds men and how best to tackle it.

Musa not only owns a dairy farm with tens of cows, but is a student of Political Science. This lays credence to the power of education and quality livelihood which should be a basic human right for
everyone regardless of where you live.
