OLOOLU MASQUERADE AT POLICE HQ, ABUJA — TODAY, 31 AUGUST 2026

If the reports surrounding the Oloolu masquerade are true, then this is no longer something society should dismiss as “tradition” or hide behind the excuse of culture.

A masquerade reportedly associated with a human skull and allegations of women being killed has been invited to Police Headquarters in Abuja for interrogation today. The questions are simple but serious:

1- Who is behind the mask?
2-Who is accountable for the alleged deaths?
3- why should any tradition be allowed to become a shield for brutality?

Culture deserves respect, but human life deserves far more respect. No costume, ritual, belief or tradition should place anyone—especially women—above the law or below its protection.

Today should not be about fear or spectacle. It should be about truth, accountability and justice. If crimes have been committed, those responsible must face the law. And if the allegations are false, the truth should come out clearly.

A mask may conceal a face, but it must never conceal the truth.
Let the interrogation begin. Let the facts speak. Let justice—not fear—have the final word.
