A lot of freelance branding (especially logo-first work) is designed to look impressive once, not to be used repeatedly.

Flashy styles. Cool effects.
Nice layouts for case studies.

But when you try to turn that same identity into daily social content, campaigns, or real-world application...

It starts to crack.

In this carousel, I shared why that happens and how to prevent it from happening.

This project quietly crossed 900 views on Behance.

Still one of my favourite logo explorations and apparently the most saved pin on my Pinterest account.

If you missed it the first time, the full Lumiere Library project is linked in my bio 😊

I drew inspiration from my background in science for this project.

Optimia is a fictional digital consulting studio that helps freelancers and small teams scale through systems and structure.

That idea took me back to my Biology class on Cell Structure, specifically how unicellular organisms like amoebas function as complete systems within a single cell.

Every part has a role. Nothing exists without purpose.

That thinking influenced the logo design. I explored structured cuts within a square, inspired by plant cross-sections and cellular organization.

My goal was to reflect clarity, order, and scalability without overcomplicating the identity. More details on the design decisions can be found in the 2nd slide.

I really want to hear your honest opinion. Does the concept come through? Please share in the comments.

Day 0 once again.

I first came across .digital through a Facebook post she shared in Naija Graphic Design group in 2023.

In that post, she encouraged beginners to stop comparing themselves to designers who had been in the game for years.

At the time, I was just starting out and I needed to hear that.

I was already comparing my work to people like Ajala Victor and Tobiloba Otun (Dexios), and it was doing more harm than good 😂

Since then, I’ve been quietly studying her works and her approach to branding.

So when I later saw her tweet about her graphic design mentorship program, it felt like the right moment to go back and relearn things properly.

For context: my entry into design was through a logo design course, not traditional graphic design.

I never really learned the foundations the “classic” way. My background in brand identity (plus a lot of YouTube, design books etc) helped me fill in some gaps.

It allowed me to work with great brands and amazing people. But I’ve always known there were foundations I hadn’t fully learned

Now feels like the right time to push that knowledge further.

That’s why I’m genuinely excited to be learning from her over the next 3 months, and documenting the process 🙂‍↕️

Most nonprofits have bad design.

I first heard that statement in one of the graphic design classes I took when I started out.

Back then, I didn’t question it.

Later, working closely with nonprofit teams, I discovered that most times the problem wasn’t taste, but inconsistency.

So when I got the chance to work with a nonprofit again, it felt like another opportunity to challenge that assumption.

The goal was simple: to make things look good and work well.

To create a system that could adapt over time without losing its humanity, one that respected the mission while still feeling intentional and thoughtfully designed.

The design system focused on three things:

1. Warm geometric illustrations to help explain complex ideas, with subtle grain textures added for realism and authenticity.

2. A structured typographic system using three typefaces each applied intentionally to support hierarchy and clarity.

3. Restraint and simplicity: every element was designed to support communication, not compete with it.

The work is far from done.

There’s still a lot to refine, learn, and many more stories to tell.

While I continue to do that, here are some of the designs I’ve worked on over the past two months.

This work wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the entire comms team.

Back then in secondary school, our teachers would always remind us of our unfair advantage.

They talked about our access to quality education and good teachers, and referred to it as a "window of opportunity"

A chance to create a better life.

The concept for this design came from that memory.

The ladder here is intentional.
It’s a visual metaphor to illustrate that not everyone has the same privileges.

Not every child is fortunate enough to climb the stairs of ambition and knowledge.

It also serves as a reminder for us to do our part in creating equal access to education.

You can do that by supporting the work does through initiatives like and

Designing for family can be tricky, but also rewarding.

Last year, my aunty reached out to help redesign her business logo. She was expanding the business, and the old logo wasn’t cutting it anymore.

It was basically a phone mockup in PSD format, which already made things pretty limiting.

Since the business name (N.E.O) is an abbreviation of her full name, I decided to lean into that instead of forcing an icon.

I designed a wordmark to represent the unity of the three names and stripped away the dots to keep things clean and flexible.

Nothing too complex.
Just something that could actually grow with the business and she loved the final outcome 🙂‍↕️

New Adventure 🎉

This whole design thing started from a free class I attended in November 2022 and it's been a grace-to-grace journey ever since.

Today I’m honoured to join as a Creative Design Associate.

This wouldn’t have been possible without God's grace, my family's guidance, your support, the designers who challenged me, and the clients who gave me a shot when I was just starting. I'm grateful 🙏🏽

To the entire People’s Project team, thank you for the warm welcome. I look forward to the work we will do together 😌

Throwback Thursday but let’s rewind to two years ago.

You’ve probably heard it countless times: “Celebrate your small wins, celebrate your big wins.”

And it’s true...but there’s something special about looking back and seeing just how far you’ve come.

That’s exactly how I felt while designing this carousel 🥺

I’m grateful to God for the mistakes I made, the successes I experienced, the people I connected with, the lessons I learned, and the support I received.

I don’t know what the next two years hold, but I know who holds them (God).

And one thing is certain: I’ll keep showing up and giving my very best and let him work through me.

I'm so glad I documented my progress and I'll be more intentional in the coming years 😊

If you haven’t started doing this, now’s the perfect time to begin. Your future self will thank you for it.

Here’s to the journey ahead and I'm glad you're part of it ❤️
