The mentorship training has been very productive so far and we are glad to write a report on the fourth week of the programme.
For the fourth week, the participants were mentored by CEFE from the Entrepreneurship Centre in person of Mrs Agatha on Go-to-market strategy which had to do with defining a unique value proposition for a product, developing a business model canvas (BMC) to outline a strategy for success, identifying the target market, competition analysis and so much more.
The coordinator brought a template to show the participants what BMC (business model canvas) looked like and it's just a plain sheet where key points or important things which includes value proposition to customer relationship, customer segment, key partners, ICT infrastructures, key activities, key resources, cost structures, revenue streams and channels.
BMC is a layout guide for a startup founder to arrange in a strategic order the important part of their business.
The coordinator stated that "if you have value without a market, then you don't have value" which meant that marketing is key in portraying value.
She also made mentioned that "a business owner should be an opportunity seeker, a risk taker and a problem solver."
The participants as developing founders were given points on how to deal with difficult customers, were given recommendations on platforms for e-marketing and were also given points on how to engage and retain their customers.
With the lecture they received, the participants now had enough knowledge on how to treat their customers and were eager to implement marketing strategies in their startup journey.
