1. Have links to some professional services. It will save you a lot of headache in the future if you can get a lawyer on standby – to do the company registrations and help you file some documents at CAC, you also need a generalist accountant, to help ensure that your books are tidy, and you have the necessary documentation to begin to make tax remittances for payee, VAT, WHT and other relevant taxes. You also need the services of an IT person, who can either manage your online office or at least help you set it up for you to manage.

2. Think Ahead, Be Fair! I’m sure you are wondering how these two statements connect, well they do. Many times you’ll get either end of the stick in business, you need to think ahead of the current scenario and ask how you’ll like to be treated if the tables were turned. Don’t wait for people who do you favor to ask for compensation, think ahead and compensate them. Don’t make it difficult for others to use you, it’s a cycle, one day you are calling the shots, another day you are taking the orders, think ahead that both days exist, and sow what you are willing to reap.

3. Own a Product! No matter how cerebral your business is, don’t ever be caught in the temptation of not having a unique named product. Don’t say you are into training, HR consulting, public speaking, business development, legal services, or all those professions, own the product and be specific in what you do, don't generalize things.

When you are in a room full of people who appear smarter than you or know more than you, what do you do?

Well, you have two choices:

1. You either try to compete with them and prove you know better, or
2. You acknowledge that you don't know enough and you take it as an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and find ways your uniqueness adds value.
Many of us often choose option 1. We compete!

This means you will view others as a threat and they would see you as a threat too. As a result, no learning will take place.
They are either trying to knock you down (to win the competition) or you are trying to outplay them. It doesn't always end well.

But wait, what if you go with option 2?
You would notice that people in the room will take pleasure in helping you learn, grow, and develop.

They would teach you a thing or two that you didn't know before.
As a result, they will welcome wherever your uniqueness adds value to them.

This is how you grow. This is how you become a person of value.

Humility is a virtue, always!

2021 BE NICE.

I have been coming across different post that starts or ends with the caption '2021 be nice'. But, I want to ask us a few questions, because the year has just begun.

The year is fresh, the way you push in this year with the help of God will determine how nice the year will be to you. Do you want to do the same thing and expect a different result? Do you want to keep procrastinating and expect success? You aren't even thinking of a business yet to do, and you are still shouting '2021 be nice'?

What plans have you put in place to make 2021 nice? Are you still depending on people to make the year nice for you? Come on, talk to me, will you be nice to 2021?

This year, I encourage us to be intentional about our success. Don't be discouraged due to your past failures, you just need to start now. Say no to procrastination and start small.

Whatever you want to archive this 2021, start now and start small. Time is already going. Discipline yourself, reduce expenses 'Good things no dey finish'. Increase savings and investments. Be intentional about your success.

Above all, don't be casual this year.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Be watchful of the people around you this year. Be smart. Don't live a carefree life. Not everyone around you wishes you well. Once you get any signal, move.

The extent at which you want 2021 to be nice to you, is the extent it can be nice to you. So rise up and work. Your success is in your hands and your failure is also in your hands. Choose wisely this year.

God is real.
