RESULT WORRIES AND OUTSTANDING COURSES? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND DO

It's not a thing of surprise to see the much anticipated result released and yet has kept a lot of students mute and some confused.

You so much anticipated the result? What then happened? Why the total silence?

Do you feel cheated? Were your grades higher than expected or lower?

Well, while it is true you can make complaints and hope you'll be attended to, the reality is that in most cases, you only got what you did.

And sure you can do better and change the story to a positive one, if and only if you want to.

So now that it has happened, a lot of us suddenly started paying attention to admins, sending screenshots and asking questions (most of which has been answered times without number via many group's posts that we all refused to pay attention to).

One of the many screenshots and questions are those of outstanding courses. I'll explain what outstanding courses mean briefly and I hope it'll help to calm a lot of us, do what's appropriate and most importantly take necessary actions if need be.

Asides not reading posts, one careless acts of students is not keeping records of your previous performance. Thankfully the new E-TICKETING site now shows previous results.

But can it be 100% trusted? Well it all depends on if you as a student have your own records, else you might just have to accept what the school gives you.

Understand that outstanding courses are usually:
1. Courses that you'll still register in the future (subsequent semesters). They are usually courses ahead of you, courses that you are yet to register.

2. Outstanding courses are courses that you were supposed to register in the past but you didn't, either due to not knowing or simply because you decided not to, even if they're electives (they may or may not have effect on you, but either ways, will show as outstanding courses)

3. Courses that you registered in the past but have not passed, either due to failing it (Carry Over) or being absent for the exams.

If the courses you find under the list of your outstanding courses happens to be ALL or ANY of these, then you need not panic.

However if you find courses that you have done successfully and passed under your list of outstanding courses on the e-ticket platform, then there's need for concern. In that case, you're to open a ticket, lodge a complaint and attach a proof that you've done it before and passed (importance of keeping records).

Without doing these three, even if you've done it before but can't find it on list of courses done successfully and you're seeing it under outstanding courses, then get ready to register it again and write its TMA and exam, and this is all on your carelessness.

So stay calm and don't bother sending me screenshots because I can't attend to all and there's nothing I can do. If you however want my full attention to help you with your RESULT ANALYSIS, explanation, advice and guidance on what next step to take to scale up your CGPA, then click this link now: https://wa.link/syiskw to connect. I'll try as much as I can to respond and help you with all these AT A TOKEN.

If I have to answer all, then I won't have time to do other things for the progress of others or even my own self.

Many are called, but few are chosen. Don't be caught unaware. Don't be shocked with your results. Be among the few. Be the few.

SHOULD YOU REGISTER NOW OR LATER?

Good morning NOUNITES, happy new week and welcome once again to July.

By now checking your previous results, having your official Gmail in place and preparing to get registered for the new semester shouldn't be a big deal anymore. If you haven't done all these, you are already failing to plan and those who fail to plan has... You should know. Check this to know how to get those done: https://t.me/joinchat/HVJGFUU1D-Xr4H-5tKjFcQ

While it's expected that school is to resume July 12th according to the school calendar, guess what? Registration is ongoing already for NEW while RETURNING students can update their portal and fund their wallet with their school fees. The only reason the "noise" is not being made is because physical interactions with the school's staff for documentation stamping and other new semester's documents verification has not yet started

Once the portal is open for course and exam Registration, this is why you should register early

1. The first reason is to enable that your records are uploaded early on the elearn portal where TMA is written. The site elearn.nouedu2.net where TMA is now written takes students records every semester batch by batch based on the first come, first served basis. You usually won't be able to login if you haven't registered for the semester.

2. Wallet Issues: The school audits students wallet every semester in order to cut out or detect those who do fake funding of wallet. Funny how most students don't know this but if you ever see any post saying you can borrow loan from the school or they'll pay your school fees for you and you'll pay later, just know you're entering a fake wallet funding trap. You should always verify your RRR yourself if you didn't pay your school yourself else you might fall victim to unscrupulous folks who pose as NOUN consultants. So every semester during auditing, even those who have no issues are prone to have negative balance. Registering ahead saves you from this stress as far as you have no issues and will usually be rectified later on. Waiting for die minute to register might be dangerous and you shooting yourself in the legs.

*The Backdrop To Registering Later*

Carry overs. The common excuse students make for registering late is that they haven't seen their results and they are afraid they might have carry overs.
While this is right, it still makes no real difference. Why? You'll register either ways, with same money in your portal. Register enough to enable you login early to elearn and leave some amount (N2,000) to register carry over if you think you might have one or two. (You can always top up your wallet but you cannot force your way into the elearn portal if your details have not been uploaded)

I hope this information helps.

INFO FOR FRESHERS SITTING FOR E-EXAM FIRST TIME

NOTE THESE THINGS WHEN SEATED FOR YOUR EXAMS

*LOGIN:* You'll need your matric number on your school ID Card to login.

*SITE HOME*: this is a link at the top of the exam page seen immediately after login. Usually, all the courses you've would be seen there especially if you've two clashed courses.

*COURSE CODE/TITLE*: You're supposed to see your course code and title for the scheduled time at the center of the page otherwise, go to site home and you'll see it. Click to open the course.

*ATTEMPT/START*: a button you must click in order to see the questions for the course.

*TIMER*: unlike TMA that's not timed E-EXAM PLATFORM has timer that starts immediately you open the question.

*NEXT:* when you click this button you will be able to access the next set of questions.

*PREVIOUS:* when you click this button you will be able to access previously viewed questions.

*_Note: there are Objectives (with options A-D to choose from) and Subjectives (without options but to type answers from your memory aka Fill-in-the-Blank)_*

*LOGOUT:* when you click this button you will be logged out of the page unless you log in again. DON'T CLICK UNLESS YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR EXAM.

*SUBMIT:* this is the final button to click after answering all the questions you could; you should only click it after you have answered all the questions. On clicking the SUBMIT button at first you will see a page showing ANSWERED And UNANSWERED questions. You may go back to a specific question, by clicking its number just like on TMA portal.

Once you click on the SUBMIT AND FINISH button you will see your score instantly. It is recommended that you add up both exam score and TMA score to see if it's up to 40. If it's not up to 40 then you'll rewrite that course next semester - it's called CARRYOVER.

*E-EXAMS TIPS FOR FRESHERS*

⏩ All the students will be given different set of questions but the position of each question will be scattered. For instance, your own Number 1 question might appear as Number 6 question on another person’s screen. The options may also be scattered i.e your own option A might be another person’s option D.

⏩The question is a mixture of OBJ (Objective) and fill-in-the gap. OBJ is usually around 35-40% and fill-in-the-gap covers 60-65%.

⏩ The ratio of the OBJ to fill-in-the-gap questions depend on the course you are writing the exam.

⏩At times, some of the questions raised in OBJ are repeated in the fill-in-the-gap.

⏩ All the courses carry 70 or 100 questions, except some Mathematics courses which carries just 35 questions and 2 marks are allotted to each question.

⏩ The timer starts immediately you commence the exam, therefore do not waste time when trying to solve difficult questions, make sure you attempt the questions you know the answers first…

⏩ Unlike TMA that all the questions are displayed on a page, the computer will only display one question per page. Hence, to view the next questions you need to click on the “Next button” or press the “Previous button” to access previous questions.

As you are attempting each question, you will be able to see the ones you have answered and the ones you have not answered below the current page (both will be displayed in different colours)

With this, you will be able to easily identify the unanswered questions and view them anytime you want.

⏩The timer will stop immediately you log out of the system and if you log in again the timer will continue from where you stopped but the questions and options will be scattered

⏩ Explore the power of prayer: This may sound funny to some people, pray before you enter the exam hall or before starting the exam.

⏩ Please note that the management has taken measures to mitigate impersonation such that your picture will appear on all the pages of the exam question…

⏩. Immediately you visit the e-exam portal you will be required to login with your matric number (just as you did in your TMA portal). So make sure you come along with your student ID card, 2022_1 Clearance form and Exam registration slip where you can easily find your matric number(in case you don’t know it offhand). To all please take note of this important information with regards to students login to start exams your matric number all in small letter starting
with nou221.......
Please note that your matric number serves as Username and password

⏩. These are the basic buttons on the page and their functions:

– NEXT: when you click this button you will be able to access the next set of questions

– PREVIOUS: when you click this button you will be able to access previously viewed questions

– LOGOUT: when you click this button you will be logged out of the page unless you log in again

– SUBMIT: This is the ex*****on button; you should only click it after you have answered all the questions. On clicking the SUBMIT button you will be notified if you still have some unanswered questions left. Make sure you review your work before hitting this button.

⏩Once you click on the SUBMIT button you will see your score instantly. It is recommended that after seeing your score you should always write it down in a safe place in order to compare it with the comprehensive results that NOUN will release after the examination period.

⏩ The exam is computer-based; the answers are already programmed and your answers will be marked by the computer not human. If you type any answer that is different from the programmed ones you will get zero. So make sure you type the answers accurately and use the correct spelling.

⏩ In addition to the above, please note that while answering subjective questions you cannot use your own English, you must answer it the exact way it is written in the course material or how it appeared in the TMA question. This is because your answers will be marked by the computer and the answers are already programmed, anything aside this will be marked wrong.
