A. Fuselage width

A narrow-body aircraft has a relatively narrow fuselage, while a wide-body aircraft has a significantly wider fuselage.

“The word 'body' here is very important. We are essentially talking about the width of the aircraft's main body and what that additional space allows the aircraft to do.”

B. Number of aisles

Narrow-body: normally one aisle.

Wide-body: normally two aisles.

Wide-body aircraft
A wide-body aircraft has a large fuselage, usually with two passenger aisles. It is designed to carry many passengers and/or large amounts of cargo, particularly on medium- to long-haul routes.

Examples: Boeing 777, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A330, Airbus A350.
