"Our generation does not lack voices, it lacks credible leaders with listening ears.” 👂😥😪
Every day, people speak.
They cry out.
They demand justice.
They tell their stories.
But who is truly listening?
The recent extrajudicial killing of a defenseless civilian in Delta State is not just another headline- it’s a painful reminder that voices alone are not enough. When those in power refuse to listen, silence becomes more dangerous than noise.
We don’t lack awareness.
We don’t lack courage.
We don’t lack the ability to speak up.
What we lack are leaders who care enough to pause, to hear, to act.
A society where those meant to protect life become a threat to it is a society crying for real leadership. Leadership that values human life over authority. Leadership that understands that power is a responsibility, not a weapon.
If the cries of the people continue to fall on deaf ears, frustration will keep growing. And when justice is delayed or denied, trust is buried.
Another innocent life gone. Not because there was no outcry, but because those who should listen have chosen silence for too long.
A defenceless civilian, full of dreams, reduced to a headline in Delta State. And just like that, a family is shattered. A future erased. A nation wounded again.
This is not just about one life lost.
It’s about a system that has normalized brutality.
It’s about uniforms that should protect, now instilling fear.
It’s about leaders who respond only when the pressure is loud enough- not when justice demands it.
This is bigger than one incident.
This is about accountability.
This is about humanity.
Until leaders learn to truly listen, the voices will only get louder.
And this time… they won’t be ignored.
Until accountability becomes real,
Until justice is not selective,
Until every life is treated as valuable-
This cycle will continue.
Let's not forget that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Today it’s someone else. Tomorrow- who knows?
Enough is enough. ✊✊
We deserve better. 🇳🇬
