“I like your product… but do you have CAC?
Amaka had been running her skincare business on WhatsApp and Instagram for almost 3 years.
Sales were coming in.
Her customers loved her.
She had nice branding, clean pictures, even testimonials.
One day, a big event planning company found her page.
They were planning a corporate retreat and needed 150 gift boxes with skincare products inside.
For Amaka, this was the kind of order that could change everything.
They discussed price.
They agreed on the package.
They were ready to move.
Then the company sent one simple message:
“I like your product. Please send your CAC registration details and account information so we can process payment.”
That was the moment everything slowed down.
Amaka didn’t have CAC.
Her business was not registered.
Her account name was just her personal name.
She tried to explain:
“I’m still in the process of registering.”
“I’ve been doing this for 3 years.”
“I have many customers…”
But to the company, it was simple:
No CAC, no deal.
They were not comfortable paying that kind of money to a name that wasn’t registered anywhere.
They told her politely:
“Once you sort out your CAC, we’ll be happy to work with you in the future.”
That opportunity went to someone else —
someone with a registered business name and proper CAC documents.
Amaka didn’t lose the deal because her product was bad.
She lost it because her structure was not ready.
That is what CAC registration really does,
It gives your business identity, trust, and access.
If you’re already selling and people know your brand,
but you still don’t have CAC, you’re playing with opportunities you can’t even see yet.
If you don’t want to be like Amaka,
start taking your CAC registration seriously.
