Ekpo meaning(Ghost) is a cultural society art form that originates from the Efik and Ibibio of Akwa/Cross in Southern Nigeria. The practice was also adopted by neighboring regions, namely Arochukwu and Ohafia in Abia state and Ikwerre people of Rivers State.

EASTER SUNDAY (ISIOKPO ANCIENT KINGDOM)
The revered Ekpo Alimini, Ekpo Nkarahia, Ekpo Omueke, Ekpo Ogbodo & Ekpo Azumini masquerades. The Five Ekpo will be on full cultural display in honour and remembrance of the Late Eze, Chief John Amabibi Nsirim.

A legendary figure in Ikwerre history, Late Chief Nsirim is celebrated as the man who introduced the Ekpo masquerade tradition to Ikwerre land. He also holds a unique place in history as the only son of Ikwerre, Rivers State, who received Queen Elizabeth II during her historic visit to Nigeria.

Join us as culture, heritage, and history come alive in a powerful display of tradition.

Date: 5th Sunday, April, 2026. Which is the Easter day.
