On Friday, Nigeria took another significant step in advancing its Artificial Intelligence ecosystem with the official launch of the Nigeria AI Scaling Hub (NAISH) and the unveiling of the Scaling AI for Development (SAID) Challenge at Abuja Continental Hotel.

The event brought together leaders from government, industry, academia, development partners, and the innovation ecosystem to explore how Nigeria can accelerate the adoption and scaling of AI solutions that address real-world challenges and create impact at scale.

A key highlight of the event was the keynote address by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, who emphasized the role of AI in driving national development through investments in digital infrastructure, innovation, economic growth, and public service delivery.

Representing NCAIR, our National Director, Dr. Olubunmi Ajala, delivered a speech and joined stakeholders in discussions focused on strengthening Nigeria's AI ecosystem and creating pathways for responsible, impactful, and scalable AI innovation.

The launch of NAISH marks an important milestone in building the infrastructure, partnerships, and enabling environment needed to move AI innovation from promising pilots to solutions that can transform lives across Nigeria.

NCAIR is participating in the launch of Nigeria’s Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment (RAM) Report, a significant step in advancing responsible and human-centred AI development in Nigeria.

We were honoured to host representatives from Agence des Systèmes d’Information et du Numérique ()and their delegation at NCAIR for an insightful visit focused on technology, research, and digital transformation.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the work being carried out across our innovation ecosystem, exchange ideas, and explore areas of mutual interest in AI, robotics, and emerging technologies.
