We were pleased to host NNPC Ltd. and R&D Directors from across Africa at NCAIR during the 3rd APPO Forum for R&D Directors.

The visit created space for meaningful exchange around research, innovation, and the future of technology on the continent. Our team shared presentations on the work NCAIR is currently driving and the initiatives we are building toward. This was followed by thoughtful conversations, important questions, and the sharing of ideas across institutions and countries.

The delegation also toured our facility and engaged directly with the work happening across our labs. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase how NCAIR is contributing to Africa’s innovation ecosystem while learning from fellow leaders committed to collaborative R&D.

We are proud to have been part of this important visit and the wider conversation on shaping a sustainable African future through research and innovation.

After 4 weeks of intense learning in Python, Advanced Python, Data Science, UI/UX, and more, our last cohort reached an important milestone — their group project presentations.

Working in teams, they turned what they learned into practical solutions, built their projects, and confidently presented and defended their ideas.

It was a strong reminder that learning goes beyond the classroom. It comes alive when knowledge is applied, challenged, and shared. We are proud of the creativity, teamwork, and growth this cohort demonstrated throughout the program.

At NCAIR, learning goes beyond theory. Our interns gain hands-on experience, build real solutions, and transform ideas into working prototypes in our fabrication lab.

One of such innovations is MedScan. Created to address the challenge of managing paper-based patient records, MedScan is designed to digitize hardcopy medical files and convert them into a searchable digital format. This helps streamline the transition from manual record keeping to more efficient digital systems.

Beyond healthcare records, the system can also support other administrative processes such as automated data entry and archiving of historical documents.

At NCAIR, innovation is not just taught. It is built, tested, and brought to life.

We were pleased to host the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at NCAIR for an engaging and insightful visit.
