A great addition to our team! Amir Atashin joined BIM-Connected as a Data Engineer earlier this month. Time to get to know him a little better!
Amir: “During my Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, I developed a keen interest in AI, which led me to pursue a Master’s in Computer Science. My thesis focused on using neural networks and graphical models for supervised sequence classification problems (e.g., gesture recognition application). Looking for an international opportunity, I moved to the Netherlands in 2022 and began an Engineering Doctorate Traineeship in Data Science at JADS - Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) and . As part of this program, I worked on several industry projects, including one at SABIC to create a data-driven solution for analytical chemistry tasks that were previously expert-intensive and time-consuming, performed manually by human experts. This project also touched on sustainability - something I value and enjoy working on.
In September, I completed my doctorate and started looking for my next challenge. That’s when I found BIM-Connected. BIM is a fascinating field that matches my wide-ranging interests. With my background in computer science, I bring a slightly different perspective to the team. My goal is to explore opportunities for BIM-Connected in data science while also advancing my skills in data engineering. I’m genuinely excited about the future of this field and the direction we’re heading in. On top of that, BIM-Connected is a young, open, and dynamic organization, which I find very inspiring. I’m looking forward to contributing to this team!”
Welcome to the team, Amir! And are you interested in joining BIM-Connected as well? Check out our vacancies.
