โ๏ธ๐ง๏ธ WEATHER ALERT: The North Island is bracing for another burst of wild weather, with heavy rain warnings now upgraded for parts of Taranaki and Bay of Plenty.
MetService says an active front moving across the country could bring intense downpours, thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and even the risk of isolated tornadoes.
Taranaki faces the biggest threat, with up to 200mm of rain possible around Taranaki Maunga and peak rainfall rates reaching 30mm an hour. Bay of Plenty east of Whakatฤne is also under an orange warning, with heavy rain expected into Saturday morning.
Authorities are warning of possible surface flooding, slips, hazardous driving conditions and rapidly rising streams and rivers.
โ ๏ธ If you're travelling or spending time outdoors this weekend, keep an eye on the latest forecasts and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
