It’s King’s Birthday weekend! How do you like to spend it?

Do you:

A) Sleep in and have a lazy brunch. The perfect staycation!

B) Get up and out the door early. There are adventures to be had spending quality family time.

C) Tackle a project you’ve been meaning to work on, and this long weekend is the time.

On a long weekend, we’re definitely ‘C’ kind of people. Michael plans to spend the weekend in the workshop crafting a sustainable fruit bowl from pieces of recycled timber that he’s glued together.

Wiping ACDelco Marton BJWs old PC’s

We have partnered with ACDelco Marton BJWs, here in Marton, and recently installed new mini desktop computers for their team successfully upgrading their computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11 enabling them to continue doing what they do best, looking after and servicing their client’s vehicles.

We brought their old desktop computers back to our Workshop, securely wiped each one, sending Erasure Certificates to ACDelco Marton BJWs confirming all data had been securely wiped, before safely disposing of their devices through our secure e-waste and recycling partner where less than 2.5% of their e-waste goes to landfill.

Recently Michael finished handcrafting this gorgeous bespoke bowl with a sustainable back story. He had lots of small pieces of wood in the shed which couldn't really be used to create anything, so he milled the pieces and glued them together with wood-glue, then turned the wood on his lathe shaping the wood into this work of art.

Keep a watch out for this subtle scam!

A very sophisticated and subtle scam following the purchase of a new computer printer and the purchaser requiring help installing it is doing the rounds again and is continuing to catch people unawares.

As tech has become more complex, purchasing a printer and plugging it in is no longer possible. All printers now require an installation process.

Basic instructions are included with a new printer on how to set it up and connect it to your device to enable you to print via the printer.

However, this is where this subtle scam comes into play, usually using one of two methods:
1. Asking you to call a given phone number; or
2. Registering your details via a website.

Often the support telephone number to call for assistance to install the printer is the telephone number of a scammer! Or once your personal details have been recorded via a website, a scammer calls you pretending to be from the printer company or a third-party company and will always request payment of money before undertaking any “work”.

DO NOT PAY the scammer any money. Do NOT give them your bank details. It’s a scam!

When purchasing a new printer, we recommend thoroughly checking the install instructions first.
