A quick in and out this week on Hutchies MG, fitting some of the bolt on parts and setting gaps.
I had a large part to play in restoring the body on this car while at BODYMODS a few years back.
Scott Barham knocked the paint out of the ballpark on this one, as per usual.
Concourse ready? I think so 😎

A smaller job in amongst the bigger jobs.
This one's been my early early morning project, putting a raise in the hood skin for a Mk1 Cortina, only a 1/2 inch or so.
I was torn between wheeling or hammering the shape into this, probably steered towards what I was taught, using the wheel.
However its made me want to use the hammer more.

Whichever way I choose to go, ive got the luxury of my Machineryhouse New Zealand gear to choose from 😎

Never stop learning πŸ’ͺ

One year of MetallicArt being full time........

It's a strange game. None of the big builds in the shop have left yet, so it can feel like you're standing still. Then you stop, look around, and realise you're trusted to work on some incredible cars alongside some bloody talented people. That's something I'll never take for granted.

The truth is, MetallicArt was never meant to be a full time business. It just happened, helped along by a few well placed kicks up the arse from some important people in our lives.

A massive thanks to Miles Donald and Rick Foster (in the 2nd Pic), working alongside you guys is a huge privilege, and I love what you guys are doing for us in the industry.

Big thanks as well to Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse and Machineryhouse New Zealand for providing amazing equipment so accessible to all of us in the trade.

To every client who's trusted us with their pride and joy, and everyone who's supported us along the way, thank you. You made this possible.

Working alone can mean some interesting battles, thinking of ideas and overcoming issues can be tough, which I'd like to thank Von Ryan and a shout out to the Metal Bastards & Business noobs πŸ‘Š

Year one is done. Plenty more to come.

Made some radius corner caps to convert the windscreen from square corners to radius corners on the X car.
Tricky little sections to fab up and get fitting correctly.
The top join i decided to stay away from the factory overlapped join, purely for strength.
Those round jaw shinker/stretchers from Machineryhouse New Zealand & Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse definitely help chase those profiles.
Good job to tick off the list πŸ‘

Now what colour to paint it? Or do I paint it at all?
Need some brighter LEDs inside, as the lights installed are weak.
Maybe change the screws to something else, I hate it when the slots don't line up 🀣
And a few other little changes for the next one.
Nice change from automotive work πŸ‘Œ

Sign box prototype number 1 😎
In the process of streamlining the fabrication of these, so I can offer them as a commission piece alongside the beadrolled art.
With a jig setup on the MetalMaster fixture table, it will be faster to fabricate and more economical for the client πŸ˜€
