Nextion 5" HMI

This showcase gives a clear idea of how a Nextion display can enhance any project—providing a modern touchscreen experience without adding complexity to the main controller. It’s a practical and powerful solution for control panels, monitoring systems, and custom user interfaces.

Reversed Vending Machine Using Image Processing for Material Recognition

The proposed system is a Reversed Vending Machine (RVM) designed to reduce littering on campus by incentivizing students to properly dispose of PET bottles and soda cans. Utilizing advanced image processing technology, specifically a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm, the machine accurately identifies and accepts only PET bottles and soda cans, rejecting other materials by ejecting them back to the user.

The RVM is intended to be installed across campus, with the primary objective of minimizing the improper disposal of recyclable materials. To encourage student participation, the machine is integrated with a rewards system that awards points for each valid item deposited. These points can be added to a student's academic record, provided there is collaboration between the school administration and the faculty.

When a student inserts a valid item into the machine, the system prompts them to enter their student ID. The corresponding points are then recorded in a database, which can be accessed by professors if they choose to factor these points into their grading system.

This initiative not only promotes environmental responsibility but also offers students an additional incentive to engage in sustainable practices, ultimately contributing to a cleaner and more eco-friendly campus environment.

Biometric Door Access Security System

This door access security system is designed with a dual-layer biometric authentication process, ensuring high security and reliability. The first level of security involves facial recognition, followed by fingerprint verification as the second level.

The registration process begins with facial recognition, facilitated through the ESP32 Cam's web server. Once a user successfully registers their face, the system immediately prompts for fingerprint registration to complete the authentication setup. If the fingerprint registration is aborted or unsuccessful, the system automatically deletes the previously recorded facial data to maintain security integrity.

Ongoing development aims to streamline the system by integrating both biometric authentication processes into a single microcontroller, simplifying the hardware setup and potentially improving efficiency.

This dual-biometric system offers enhanced security for controlled access areas, ensuring that only authorized individuals can gain entry through both facial and fingerprint verification.

45 Days Chicken IoT Feeder Project

The 45 Days Chicken IoT Feeder is an innovative solution designed to ensure the optimal care of chicks during their crucial early development stage. This system addresses the critical need to maintain a consistent feeding schedule, which is essential for the healthy growth of poultry. The core purpose of this project is to eliminate the risk of missing feeding times by automating the feeding process, thereby promoting the welfare of the chicks.

The scheduling of feedings is managed through a companion Android app, allowing for seamless control and customization. This app enables users to set precise feeding times, ensuring that the chicks receive their meals at the most appropriate intervals. By leveraging this scheduling system, the feeder provides a reliable and efficient means to manage feeding without the need for constant human intervention.

In addition to automated feeding, the system monitors several environmental parameters critical to the well-being of the chicks. These include feed and water levels, as well as the ambient temperature and humidity within the coop. The system ensures that the temperature remains between 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, a range ideal for the healthy growth of chicks. This is achieved by automatically controlling a 100-watt incandescent lamp, which turns on or off as needed to maintain the desired temperature.

At the heart of this project is the ESP32 microcontroller, known for its robust performance and versatility in IoT applications. The ESP32 manages the various sensors and actuators involved in the system, ensuring accurate data collection and responsive control mechanisms. The data gathered by the system, including feed and water levels, temperature, and humidity, is stored in a Firebase database. This cloud-based storage solution provides a reliable and scalable way to log and access data, allowing for remote monitoring and historical data analysis.

The feeder mechanism itself is ingeniously fabricated using a rice dispenser, which is coupled with a powerful 25 kg servo motor. This combination ensures precise control over the dispensing of feed, minimizing waste and ensuring that the chicks receive the correct amount of food at each feeding. The use of a servo motor also allows for smooth and consistent operation, critical for the reliability of the feeding process.

In conclusion, the 45 Days Chicken IoT Feeder represents a significant advancement in poultry care technology. Do not be afraid to get a consultant to guide you in making your ideas work. This is because more than often, professors would not really care if your concept is possible or not. And when they accept it, almost most of the time, they will not allow you to change your title. You now have to do it whether it is possible or not.
