Stop treating your tech stack like a trophy case. Honestly, clients don’t care.
They don’t care if you use Next.js, Laravel, or pure magic. That list of frameworks means nothing to a business owner who is just trying to fix a problem. They only have one question in their head: "Can this person actually help me?"
We tend to forget that clients aren't buying our coding skills; they are buying the result of those skills.
Your stack is just your toolbox. It’s important for you because it helps you build better stuff, but you don't need to show the tools to the client. Think of it this way: Nobody buys a hammer; they buy the house that was built with it.
So instead of flexing your GitHub, try this:
- Actually listen to what’s stressing them out.
- Figure out their real goals.
- Give them a solution that saves them time or money.
At the end of the day, people don't hire coders. They hire problem solvers.
