Air Canada's chatbot made up a refund policy.
A tribunal made Air Canada honour it. ⚖️

Here's what happened 👇

A customer asked the airline's chatbot about bereavement fares.
The chatbot said he could claim a refund after his trip.
That policy didn't exist.

Air Canada argued the chatbot was responsible for its own words.
In 2024, the tribunal disagreed: the company is responsible for everything on its website, chatbot included.

The lesson for every business using AI:
