What is an Expired Domain?
An Expired Domain is a domain which No-one registers after it expires. That mean it’s available for us to register and Use it for different purposes.

We know that a domain can be registered in a person’s name for a period of 1 years. Certain TLDs can be registered for more than 1 year
as well. When the registration period reaches the date of expiration, the registration can be renewed at a certain price.
If the person, on whose name, Don’t renew the Contract of registration, the domain is held up for a certain time period (which depends on the registrar Company) in case the person plans to renew the domain.
If not, the domain is sent to expired domains registry and anyone can register them.
Why are Expired Domains valuable?
Expire domains can be used for many purposes. To list a few of them would be:
1. To obtain backlinks via 302/301 redirects.
Some domains carry a good backlink profile with themselves when they are transferred to the expired domain registry. These can used to divert the link juice to another domain via 301/302 redirects and can boost the backlink profile of the new domain.
2. Can be used to get a head start in a Niche
It’s often hard to Establish Authority with a brand new domain in a niche. It takes time and resources to do that. An expired Domain with a low spam Score and a few high authority backlinks really speeds up the process of Establishing authority over the internet.
3. Cheap to Register and can be sold for higher profits.
Expired domains can be easily registered, at normal price, with any registrar, just as a new domain. Since these are easy to be ranked(with backlinks) and developed into an earning website, These can be sold quickly at higher profit margins.
The Cons?
one thing to look out for while looking for expired domains is the Spam Score. You also don’t want domains with Spamy backlinks. These are domains penalised by Google and are no good to be worked on.
