UI/UX design is no longer just about playing with tools like or

With the rise of AI in software development, many old school CEOs believe, "We have Figma AI, Bolt AI, and Loveable ai, why hire UI/UX designers?"
They see team reduction as a cost saving opportunity driven by automation. But here’s the truth

AI can replicate patterns!! not purpose.
In the name of “minimalism,” AI often generates lifeless mixes of gradients and shadows without soul.

UI/UX is not just about layouts, it’s about thinking.

It’s about empathy and emotion deeply understanding user behaviour.

It’s about crafting meaningful journeys
solving real problems
translating thought processes into intuitive, human centered design.

Tools assist but creativity, emotion, and intention are what make great design.

Microsoft Ports TypeScript to Go for 10x Native Performance Gains

"The native implementation will drastically improve editor startup, reduce most build times by 10x, and substantially reduce memory usage," announced Anders Hejlsberg, lead architect of TypeScript and Technical Fellow at Microsoft, in a March 11 post. "By porting the current codebase, we expect to be able to preview a native implementation of tsc capable of command-line typechecking by mid-2025, with a feature-complete solution for project builds and a language service by the end of the year."

Microsoft is revamping its TypeScript programming language with a native compiler and toolset. This effort seeks to address performance challenges, especially in large codebases, by porting the existing TypeScript compiler from TypeScript/JavaScript to the native language, Go.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved from a distant concept in science fiction to a central player in our daily lives. Whether it’s through personalized recommendations on streaming platforms, self-driving cars, or sophisticated healthcare diagnostics, AI is transforming industries and reshaping society. But as these technological advancements unfold, the ethical implications are becoming increasingly important.

AI ethics isn’t just about asking whether we can build intelligent machines, it’s about asking whether we should, and how we should go about it in a responsible, equitable, and sustainable way.

At its core, AI ethics is the study of the moral implications of AI systems. It focuses on the decisions made by AI, the impact of those decisions on individuals and society, and the broader consequences for our future. Since AI systems are designed by humans, their ethical frameworks are also shaped by human values and societal norms. But these values are diverse, and what is considered ethical in one culture or context may not be in another.

AI ethics addresses a wide range of issues, including fairness, transparency, privacy, accountability, and the potential for harm. It asks the tough questions:

Who is responsible when an AI system causes harm?
How do we ensure AI is fair and doesn’t perpetuate biases?
What are the implications of using AI in sensitive areas like healthcare, law enforcement, and employment?

The days of unchecked SaaS hypergrowth are almost certainly behind us. Public SaaS companies have seen their valuations compress, with small-cap SaaS significantly underperforming broader market indices in 2024. However, it’s crucial to remember that the SaaS market is a $300B+ industry, projected to reach nearly a trillion dollars with low double-digit growth for years to come.

In other words, while growth has certainly decelerated, SaaS is far from dead. Instead, we’re witnessing a maturation of the industry, shifting towards more sustainable business models and a focus on profitability.

The rapid advancement of AI has led some to predict the “end of software” as we know it. There’s no denying that AI will be a disruptive force, potentially inverting unit economics for the application layer and catalyzing a shift toward AI-powered services and embedded AI.

However, I believe the impact of AI represents more of a rebirth – and even an opportunity – rather than a true demise of the SaaS industry. Forward-thinking SaaS companies are already integrating AI capabilities into their offerings, enhancing their value proposition rather than becoming obsolete. The key will be adapting quickly and leveraging AI to create more intelligent, efficient, and personalized software solutions.

In today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape, organizations need to balance the need for fast, continuous development with maintaining high levels of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This is where DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) come into play—two practices that, when combined, can elevate an organization's ability to deliver value quickly and reliably.
SRE uses software engineering techniques to automate key IT operations tasks, such as production system management, change management, incident response, and even emergency response. It’s a transformative approach that shifts system administrators into the role of engineers, automating tasks that were once done manually to improve efficiency and scalability.

What makes SRE different?
While SRE shares similar goals with DevOps—like accelerating development cycles and enhancing collaboration—it takes a more specific focus: balancing rapid application development with the need to meet performance and availability levels outlined in Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
By introducing the concept of an error budget, SRE allows teams to measure the acceptable level of operational risk introduced by application changes. This empowers teams to innovate quickly while ensuring that reliability and performance standards are maintained.
On a cross-functional DevOps team, SRE serves as a bridge between development and operations, providing the metrics and automation tools needed to push code changes and new features through the pipeline as efficiently as possible without compromising on SLAs.

Why is this important?
With SRE, teams can achieve the ideal balance between speed and stability, allowing organizations to move faster while safeguarding customer satisfaction and service reliability.
