Logic Gates Overview:

Logic gates are fundamental components of digital electronics, PLCs, instrumentation, automation, and industrial control systems. They process binary signals—0 (OFF/LOW) and 1 (ON/HIGH)—to make logical decisions.

⚙️ 9 Logic Gates & Their Functions

1. AND Gate
Output is HIGH only when all inputs are HIGH.
➡️ Commonly used for permissive and interlock logic.

2. OR Gate
Output is HIGH when at least one input is HIGH.
➡️ Useful for multiple start or alarm conditions.

3. NOT Gate
Inverts the input signal: 0 → 1 and 1 → 0.
➡️ Used for signal inversion.

4. NAND Gate
An AND gate followed by inversion.
➡️ A universal gate capable of implementing other logic functions.

5. NOR Gate
An OR gate followed by inversion.
➡️ Another universal gate used extensively in digital logic.

6. XOR Gate
Output is HIGH when the inputs are different.
➡️ Used in comparison, arithmetic and parity circuits.

7. XNOR Gate
Output is HIGH when the inputs are the same.
➡️ Useful for equality checking.

8. Buffer Gate
Output follows the input without inversion.
➡️ Used for signal isolation and driving other circuits.

9. XNOR / Exclusive-NOR
This is the same logical function as XNOR:
Same inputs → 1 | Different inputs → 0

📌 Important Note

The poster shows XNOR twice ( #7 and #9). XNOR and Exclusive-NOR are two names for the same logic function, so they are not separate gate types.

Understanding these basic gates makes it much easier to understand PLC ladder logic, digital circuits, control logic, and industrial automation systems.

The heating element heats water and produces steam to cook the eggs.
Heating Element: Converts electrical energy into heat.
Thermostat:
Detects high temperature and automatically switches OFF the heater.
Indicator:
Glows when the boiler is powered and heating.
Automatic Shut-Off: Prevents overheating and dry boiling.
Circuit:
AC supply → Switch → Indicator → Heating Element → Thermostat → Neutral.
